Australia in New Zealand

Again very poor bowling by the kiwis at the end considering the great start they had. NZ are currently 3 down and will be extremely difficult to get anywhere near it. The bowling has once again let them down. Aus has a fantastic middle-lower order but have got to do something about their top 2 when they battle with the other 2 ODI powerhouses South Africa and Sri Lanka in the VB series.
Gilly needed to be rested, the series was not that important to tour Gilchrist. Katich needs to be dropped, too slow for an opener, and too crap for Internation cricket anyways.

Gilly should be opening in the VB series, and maybe push Clarke up to open put Hussey in Clarkes spot and bring in a young batter.

Katich has to be dropped. Jacques should certainly come in to replace him. Expect Watson to be back in the VB series if he is fit.

Can anybody tell me how big the ground is because batsmen are smashing sixers so easily?
Maybe, the New Zealand
bowlers crap. What the hell was Chris Martin doing in the team?

Katich isn't too slow for an opener, if you think so, you are over-rating Hayden (among others) as an ODI player. He isn't, however, better than Phil Jaques in my opinion, so there is plenty of cause to replace him.

NZ fighting back quite well. Some belligerent batting by Styris so far. Hopefully he may continues. Johnson hasn't looked to impressive in his first match but hope he can improve in the next few matches he plays. Hope this game will be thriller like wednesday's match

Thanks Cam, now back to domestic cricket where you belong please

Big ask for NZ now, even on a small ground

Great win by N.Z, their game plan of chasing down totals with a long batting lineup has finally paid off.

Good to get the second string attack some big time match practice. Gotta start building up a pool of bowlers that will be in contention for the World Cup.

And a great night for me! Won a tidy sum in my usual practice of betting against the Aussies in a dead rubber. Good day all around!

Just saw the result, WTF happened. Can't believe our attack can't defend 300+ We are officially screwed if McGrath gets injuried. I knew Johnson was going to be too expensive. Anyway congrats to NZ they deserved the win.

^ Combination of great batting, a postage stamp of a ground, an inexperienced bowling attack, and rain for the latter part of the N.Z innings (bowlers having evident problems gripping the ball).

What another fantastic match. The last few matches has showed McCullum as one of the best keepers going around in the one day form of the game. This series McCullum>>>>>>>>>>>>>Gilchrist. Excellent support also by Vettori again. If only New Zealand won the second match :D then it would be their series. Bad luck by the aussies despite their inexperienced bowling attack. This series certainly has been extremely entertaining for the batsmans. Very good and versatile knock by Styris, century under pressure and fantastic partnership with Oram who hit some big ones. Aus would be extremely dissapointed after posting 332 and what looked like an imposing total. The last 2 matches has highlighted that NZ could be the darkhorse in the world cup and probably don't deserver 7th place in the ODI rankings. This is a fantastic day, NZ beats Aus and England batting brilliantly against Pakistan :)

What a match! Unbelievable!!! great inning by Styris.

Absolutely amazing batting .. Unbelievable almost.
No amount on praises can do justice to McCullum's innings. Scoring 332 for 8 with an over to spare !! That too after losing the first 3 wickets for 60 odd runs.

Btw ... Isn't there a case for making the outfield a bit larger in NZ grounds?

Very good win indeed and Astle and Mcmilan again failing with the bat.
That second six by Oram was absolute amazing, he smacked it right out of his arse, almost a 12.

Great win by NZ there, Mitchel Johnson labeleda 'Young Star' by aussie:p Rofl at that!
