Yet we can't score 250 :facepalm
The pressure of chasing close to 500 is on display. Its not that Australia cannot score 250. they did play very well in last match in terms of batting. This is as flat as it gets and its spoiling the fun. ODI's will be dead before we know it if pitches like this continue to be raised.

But how can they win 3 tosses and pick the wrong thing every time. This was an absolute road and he wanted to bowl first.

Was Lehmann, Warner and Smith really the backbone of Australian team?
Mitch Marsh Starc Cummins and Hazlewood are also assets to the ODI and Test Team aswell as Smith and Warner. Honestly Tim Paine is a liability. Although the wants to "change" the team for the good, he is an awful captain. Batsmen attack early and he still has 2 slips in. Makes the wrong calls with the toss and can't play a big shot to save his life. D'Arcy Short is still young so I would give him another series or 2to prove himself, along with Head. Good players like Alex Carey are sitting on the bench waiting for a mediocre batsman/captain with a 70sr and supposed finisher to get injured. Something must be done immediately

I think people will underestimate this Australian team. Jyde Richardson, Billy Stanlake and Andrew Tye will be the ones to watch.
I think not. This Aussie side is an embarrassment. Why does Paine keep sending the Poms in on belters? Put pressure on them and make them chase a target. The flat tracks are nullifying our superior pace. Then we let their spinners dominate us as we will not use our bloody feet. My dear old mother is more adept at ten pin bowling than these blokes are against spin. Woeful.. other than a select few such as Agar, Marsh and Stoinis.

How is Short in this side? Doing nothing with the bat or ball. Fumbles in the field. Open with Agar.. and please bring back Ussie!!

Short is totally out of form. Australia need to counter attack, it's 3-0 now. Agar's batting is not that good for facing new ball. Usman Khawaja is not a good player of spin bowling, that's why he was drop. Alex Carey can open with Arron Finch - Best option right now. I think Finch need to talk with Langer, middle order role is not for him. It will not lenghten his carrer.

I agree with this. Short seems like a hit or miss player. Keeping Agar down at 7 is a good option rather than him opening. He's able to play the role as allrounder and he's made useful runs down there. His bowling is alright but hopefully he improves. I don't think Khawaja is a totally awful white ball player. He could be next in line to open with Finch and he's more suited to facing the new ball more than anything. If Head and Short are out of contention, wouldn't be surprised to see Khawaja come in.

One thing I don't understand to this day- why do team's bat Aaron Finch in the middle order? Now that he's failed in his outings at #5, it seems utterly ridiculous being put in that position. He never does well under #4- it's a known fact and he's used at 5 even in the IPL with close to no success. He is a TOP ORDER batsman. Period. He always performs opening and has always failed in the middle order. Australia, as well as other teams in the IPL mishandle this guy and don't allow him to perform to his full potential.

Next ODI Aus lineup:

Finch
Head
S Marsh
Carey
Stoinis
Maxwell
Paine
Agar
Neser/Tye
Jhye
Stanlake

I half agree with you. Alex Carey must come in. Finch back to open and dump Short. Agar has to bat higher as he is needed to play the consolidating role as those above him have been woeful. Once in he has the tools to murder an attack. Khawaja is poor against spin early in his innings. If he can weather the early storm he can take apart any spin attack as he has shown on more that one occasion. Also time to bring back James Faulkner. Stoinis is a batsman only.

I would definitely have Kane Richardson in for Stanlake or Jhye Richardson. Stick with Tye and his deceptive knuckle ball. Must come good soon. Agar at least ahead of Paine.[DOUBLEPOST=1529471491][/DOUBLEPOST]admin my username looks weird on two lines Can u please change to @baggygreenman?

You should be able to change your own username on your profile page

Ok I think it's safe to say that this the worst odi bowling performance I have ever seen from Australia
I'm guessing this is the general opinion but we do have some big injuries... But then chasing down such a total is in it's self a major psychological hurdle... ?[DOUBLEPOST=1529480182][/DOUBLEPOST]

Need to find other talisman can't live on past glories.

Tim Paine & Travis Head need to swap their batting position. Head is not an opener, he is less attacking. Paine must open if they still going for Finch at no 5.
