Australia tour of New Zealand 2010

I'm certain this will be North's last chance. If he doesn't perform against New Zealand, that'll be the end of the road for him.

North to get a 100 :facepalm

Aussies seem to pull something out of the hat when their careers are in danger. Wouldn't be surprised to see North do it, also considering the fact that it is only against New Zealand.

As in, Kane is in form now right? But they're not picking him?

Say they pick him a year from now, when he's not in such great form and does badly, NZ will look like idiots.
They'd look like fools for picking anyone who isn't in form, but due to the short length of his career, if he has a bad season, he won't look like such a good player either.

North to get a 100 :facepalm

It seems to be the way...:p But that said, I've got nothing against Marcus North and if he did get back into form I'd be just as happy with him at #6 as anyone else I think.

Oops sorry - should be saying: ZOMG STEVE SMITH ZOMG... :sarcasm

North !! North !! Why again him ?? give Smith his break. Bloody selectors :facepalm

As much as I'd like to see Smith in the Test side, I'd also like to see North do well. If North doesn't take his chances and continues to fail, then yes, bring Smith in. But I think he should be given a last chance to show that he can still cut it take Test level and that he has the character and skill to get himself out of his rut.

oh stuff north. his time is up and its time to let the youth come into the side. smith is exactly the player to replace north. hes in form, something that north is not.

i guess the aussie selectors know that the ashes isnt long away and we want an experienced side to take the english on.....if we play smith then going into the ashes our number 6 would have only 5-6 tests in him and even if he did go well against newzeland and pakistan playing in an ashes series is alot harder, marcus north has shown he can handle the pressure.

With Shane Watson out Australia are going into this test with only four bowling options right, it would probably be a good chance to play Smith at six and even though the pitch isn't going to give much turn it gives Ponting another option at least.

Hoping Hughes does badly :p but I kind of want to watch him live at the second test so he'll have to score runs this game you'd think.

So bringing Hughes over has its benefits after all :p Might be able to get his foot in the door if North fails again and he scores a bucket load of runs.

Well, in the past 2 tous to NZ our batting hasnt done all that well. In 05 we struggled in all 3 tests, Gilly bailed us out every time. The NZ bowlers had our top 6 in tatters many times, even in 2000 we were 5/29 in one test, then Gilly bailed us out, AGAIN. So our batsmen will more than likely struggle, my predcition.

in 2005- 1st test we were 5/160, 2nd test 4/163, 3rd test 4/200 odd, 2nd inn 5/220

in 2000 - 1st test we were 5/138 2nd inn 5/107, 2nd test 4/51, 3rd test 5/29.

So you can see the top order havent batted that well, 1993 tour was pretty bad too.
