Australia tour of South Africa, 2008/09

Harris is bowling very well. The first time i saw him was in England. Looked very average (admittingly Pietersen was in full flow). He's developed into a very consistent bowler. Good temperament. Here to stay. Much to my suprise. I think we're seeing the virtues of a proper number 6 batsman. Not a dibbly dobbly, bits and pieces player. For me North should be 6 when fit. If not get another proper batsman.

This test is pretty much a role reversal by the teams I think. Not sure if its "dead-rubber" syndrome for the Aussies, I think not they were pretty keen on a whitewash. But the way every match was dominated by one team is quite strange. We're playing about as good as we played terrible during the first two games and now Australia are looking shoddy after destroying us. Wouldve been nice if all three tests were closely contested.

Very proud though, I always thought it was harsh to drop Prince for Duminy and not open up a space for him in the line-up regardless. Pretty decent opener and AB is really making it count as well....read that there were rumours of him perhaps replacing Boucher as keeper and getting another batter in but AB is adamant that in order for him to become the best batsman in the world, being keeper would restrict him. Good to know he's ambitious and surely making strides towards it! And this Harris guy is finally coming around as well....doesnt spin it much but damn hes got good control and variation in flight - very impressive.

I guess its quite a good observation from some of the commentators that we should see this series and the one in Oz as a continuous 6 test series - And I think if we win here a 3-3 result is a pretty good indication of how the teams stand.

Oh for god sake South Africa! Get Andrew McDonald out already! I swear, if McDonald is playing in the 1st Test at Lords then I'll consider the following the poms.

Looks as if both Johnson and McDonald are going to make maiden Test tons here.

Damnit  this Mcdonlad is screwing us. If he gets a ton we are screwed and he will be autometically selected for Ashes :( Blunder

WORLD CHAMPIONS added 15 Minutes and 4 Seconds later...

Mcdonald has showed his true skills ;) leaving Johnson al9one and now Siddle goes too  Not again ........ plz. Johnson deserved the ton this time :upray

WORLD CHAMPIONS added 2 Minutes and 37 Seconds later...

YAY :happy YAY :happy Johny boy :happy You beauty :happy congrats on 1st Ton :) many more to go :hpraise

Harris got the final wicket of Hilfenhaus and South Africa win by an innings and 20 runs.

When was the lost time that Australia lost with an innings defeat?

Harris or Prince should be Man of the Match.

Wow! What has become of Paul Harris. He is no longer a 'hold up one end' spinner as he used to be can actually be used as an attacking option by the saffas these days!

I am happy that South Africa have atleast prevented the white wash.. I seriously wonder where this SA's team spirit had gone during first two games. They played lifelessly in first two tests. If they would have showed the same spirit like today, Aussies would have been whitewashed with ease

Ok, I was wrong, Johnson is an allrounder, and Harris is not a crap spinner.

Great summer of cricket by these two teams.

I don't think it would've been that easy but the majority of the SA players had no matches before the first two tests (since 3rd test in Australia) and then played local cricket before the 3rd test. It's strange how they continually go into home series with no real match practice under their belt. Aussies played NZ and then a few played local cricket. It makes a big difference.

Just got a chance to see McGain's match figures. Poor bowling or just unlucky? I didn't get to watch the game.

Ouch, 149 runs of 18 over at 8.27. Not pleasant on your debut.
