Australia tour of South Africa 2018

Michael Clarke's tweet yesterday about the dressing room being so small? I think there's a lot still to come.

Just watched his presser where he resigned. Just being sarcastic there. 24 hours ago they said these reports were false.
Yeh, I realized that soon after posting. By then, it was too late....

Good riddance. The fact that Bancroft LIED in his PC after the day's play about the sandpaper also tells me that these guys totally plotted to cheat.

Justice though has prevailed.

Time to applaud the CA and turn the page over. Let these guys serve their punishments and then give them a fair crack once they're back. I don't like Smith/Warner but I believe Lehmann when he says they're good people who've made bad mistakes. We all do. I for one won't label them as 'cheats' or anything of the sort from here on.

Here's hoping they come back stronger than ever and I truly hope Australia recovers fast from this farce because no nation plays as hard and as aggressive as them. Also, a word of compassion for my Aussie forummers here. Sometimes, in our anger and love and passion for the sport we go overboard as I might have as well or someone might have to me. We move on!

The email that shows umpires had raised concerns about Smith and Warner before

Interesting Read : Going by the reports in the above article they deserve every bit of the punishment imposed by CA.
Oh c'mon thats just silly.....so what, he was grumpy.......that has nothing to do with it. The lads been punished, everybody has stuck there boot in. Time to give them some peace and space. We too need to uphold the spirit of cricket.

i think cricket now has to take a long look at itself, and come to a sensible understanding in relation to ball tampering and reverse swing, and pitch conditions.

reverse swing has always had an element of suspicion attached to it. there's always a nod and a wink around "ball management" etc. articles that discuss reverse swing always make coded comments around "certain teams have their methods' or "you're aware of what goes on" (james taylor in tonight's evening standard is a prime example).

reverse swing makes test cricket more interesting. the combination of flat pitches, big bats, small boundaries etc. upsets the balance of the game and reverse swing keeps the bowler in the game longer. there needs to be an open discussion - what is genuinely needed to get reverse swing in most conditions that can be considered reasonable. set very clear boundaries that may go further than is currently allowed (e.g. sucking mints, throwing on the bounce are fine etc.) and upgrade the offence for those guilty of over stepping. at the same time, balls that go soft and lose conventional swing after 15-20 overs aren't good enough, and flat pitches that do nothing are outrageous.

the conspiracy and cover up and corruption of an inexperienced team member mark this out as particularly bad, and a harsh punishment is reasonable. but seeing one of the greats of the game a broken, diminished figure is really sad and and really bad for the sport.

test match cricket needs reverse swing, and it needs superstars. we need a proper settlement whereby we can get one without compromising the integrity and career of the other.

Smith's press conference was really sad to watch.
I used to play football, and i had to stop because of a pretty bad injury. Although me and Smith are light years away, i suffered a lot mentally after that day. I hope he does better and is back at his best. If he can get back to his previous levels, he'll definitley go down as an all time great.
As for Warner, he got what he deserved.

Dennis Lillee/Thompson/Marshall/Roberts
etc. all were great bowlers without reverse swing.
