I do not understand some folks mentality here on forum, not everything is freaking related to Indians. This is a Australia vs South Africa thread, Australians cheated against South Africa, the Cricket Australia and ICC sanctioned their respective punishment on Cricket Australia's players. The only way Indians are involved in this is discussion here on boards and all over the world. So the mentality of involving India and BCCI into everything is just getting boring, bring on something new to keep us entertaining, bring out new acquisitions.
Also once again IF (big IF) India wins a series in Australia and if there is no Smith and Warner, Indians wont be given credit. Apparently Australia with all the best bowling attack suddenly cannot win matches as Smith is not part of the squad lol! Thats how the Aussie mentality is currently.
Back to topic of press conference, although Smith, Bancroft and Warner cheated, I absolutely feel terrible for Smith and Bancroft. Do they deserve a ban? Yes definitely but it should not have been 12 and 9 months respectively. The press conference of both Smith and Bancroft felt genuine and not because he cried but Smith really feels the pain more followed by Bancroft. Smith has lost his place as well as captaincy for time being and it got to hurt more.
On the other hand with Warner not even freaking coming out and speaking shows his ego and attitude. I am not at all sad about Warner's ban. His behavior was as it is becoming nuisance.
Once again continue with blame India for this as well but with new ways, old ways have got boring!
Lol so either you have contradicted your own statement or perhaps tried being sarcastic. Fans all over the world will fight for their own players, the so called "Indians" talking about Virat Kohli never doing anything like this and India performing better is all together a different talk to what I mentioned (the post you quoted) Every country fans are allowed to support their own country and bloat the performances but what I was talking about is how Smith getting banned is also India's fault? NOPE it is not, do not drag in a series that is going to happen almost 8 - 9 months from now and say the "Indians" did not want to face Smith and wanted easy win hence India got Smith banned. Lol! No your captain cheated and he got banned.I completely agree, Indian cricketers are dragged into everything. I watch videos on cricket.com.au YouTube channel and the comment section is full of Indians contiounsly talking about virat Kohli never doing anything like this and how he is so much better and that India performed better than Australia is.
Definitely a modern great for me. He reminds me of the West Indian bowlers from the 80's. He obviously is not as skilled as them but it's nice to see him do it primarily on the bounce and pace. It was a fun career to watch and he deserves all of the praise that comes his way as he leaves the international scene. South Africa and Pakistan always seem to produce a lethal pace attack consistently. How do you rate Morne Morkel? Playing in his last test tomorrow and I cant help but feel he never fulfilled his true potential. A good bowler of the modern era but shouldve been so much more!
In any other attack in the world I think he would have flourished. Many a batsmen has regarded him as one of the best they have faced. i think he always took a back seat to the likes of Steyn and Philander with them getting all the plaudits (And rightly so as they are great as well). in my opinion he is a great bowler but him could have been one of the all time greats in another era. He is a work horse who always performed for the team. SA are gonna miss him.How do you rate Morne Morkel? LOL no smith warner will not be at the world cup its done for them.
Why you all backing smith he got caught cheating and now he is out..... The Indians said they don't want them playing LMAO
3-1
i think cricket now has to take a long look at itself, and come to a sensible understanding in relation to ball tampering and reverse swing, and pitch conditions.
reverse swing has always had an element of suspicion attached to it. there's always a nod and a wink around "ball management" etc. articles that discuss reverse swing always make coded comments around "certain teams have their methods' or "you're aware of what goes on" (james taylor in tonight's evening standard is a prime example).
reverse swing makes test cricket more interesting. the combination of flat pitches, big bats, small boundaries etc. upsets the balance of the game and reverse swing keeps the bowler in the game longer. there needs to be an open discussion - what is genuinely needed to get reverse swing in most conditions that can be considered reasonable. set very clear boundaries that may go further than is currently allowed (e.g. sucking mints, throwing on the bounce are fine etc.) and upgrade the offence for those guilty of over stepping. at the same time, balls that go soft and lose conventional swing after 15-20 overs aren't good enough, and flat pitches that do nothing are outrageous.
the conspiracy and cover up and corruption of an inexperienced team member mark this out as particularly bad, and a harsh punishment is reasonable. but seeing one of the greats of the game a broken, diminished figure is really sad and and really bad for the sport.
test match cricket needs reverse swing, and it needs superstars. we need a proper settlement whereby we can get one without compromising the integrity and career of the other.
How did Khawaja get picked again?Maxwell deserved it. Could've had Shaun Marsh bat at 3 because of his stability at the top order and Maxwell could've batted at 6
That's what I'm thinking, they might've forgot that he has performed the entire series except a hit or miss half century. Maxwell could've stayed I need Australia if they didn't plan on picking him[DOUBLEPOST=1522407562][/DOUBLEPOST]We're only a session and a few into the game and i already feel like we are going to lose. At this rate if we don't pick up wickets soon, SA will be 240/3 at most by the end of the dayI think it basically came down to finding replacements for Warner, Bancroft, Smith and Starc, and Khawaja just slipped the minds. Replacing 4 players is a major game changer for any side let along due to forced circumstances.
In a way, he got very lucky.
