I may be slightly jealous of South Africa at the moment. I've watched most of their series against India and Australia, as well as watching England in the Ashes and against New Zealand, and I honestly think South Africa have played most of the best cricket of the last few months. Markram has been brilliant despite a few low scores (particularly at times against India), Elgar has been as resilient as ever in carrying his bat twice, Amla showed touches of his class in both series, de Villiers in the last few weeks was on another level and his hundred recently was one of the best I've seen in some time, Rabada was an absolute joy to watch throughout and in particular that battle with Warner that he kept on winning, while Ngidi was impressive in his first few games, and then Philander's spell today was just magnificent. Then you've got the people around them like Morkel reaching 300, Bavuma making 95*, du Plessis getting back in form with a century yesterday, and Maharaj being pretty impressive at times. It just doesn't seem fair, haha! For England, it's cause enough for celebration when one player makes it to fifty at the moment, haha! Really enjoyed watching these series lately anyway, and even with big names retiring, the future for the SA team looks pretty good.
