Australia tour of South Africa 2018

If Paine has a broken thumb, who's gonna keep wicket?[DOUBLEPOST=1522581020][/DOUBLEPOST]Why are teams so afraid of the follow-on these days?

To rest bowlers and to embarrass AUS........... 450 runs AUS will be bowled out for 250 so I'm not sure why SA are wasting time still batting.

Why are SA still batting after Elgar's dismissal? I thought they should have declared at the stroke of lunch. Surely, you don't see Australia scoring 400+ in the 4th innings? And given the weather conditions, isn't time gonna play a factor in the outcome?

cricinfo posted Rabada has stiff back. Morne is injured. So, SA are not declaring.

^ To add to the above, "Philander has a strapped groin which has been managed throughout the match. " - cricbuzz again. SO none of the fast bowlers are fit.

I don't see us scoring 300 runs. The series is either 2-1 or 3-1 no chance of us aus winning

This series has been so bad in terms of the bat for Australia. 4 matches and almost 8 innings and a high score 96. Almost everyone in South Africa's top 6 has gotten a hundred except amla. We had 1 90 so far even with the likes of Smith and Warner plying

Aiden Markram :cheers Second fastest to 1000 Test runs as a South African (Second to Smith) and 10 quickest overall :clap

Philander is on fire. Hopefully Morne will get the last wicket !

Ha Ha so this is the performance Australia were hoping for to give people back home something to be proud of?

Mwahaha!!!!

Wow. Just realized there are no ODIs/T20s after this. Quite strange really, a high profile series like this should have had one. IPL effect maybe?

Not try to rub salt in the Aussies wounds, but that one hell of a beating :p

IPL Window is in ICC's FTP. So they actually can't.

I may be slightly jealous of South Africa at the moment. I've watched most of their series against India and Australia, as well as watching England in the Ashes and against New Zealand, and I honestly think South Africa have played most of the best cricket of the last few months. Markram has been brilliant despite a few low scores (particularly at times against India), Elgar has been as resilient as ever in carrying his bat twice, Amla showed touches of his class in both series, de Villiers in the last few weeks was on another level and his hundred recently was one of the best I've seen in some time, Rabada was an absolute joy to watch throughout and in particular that battle with Warner that he kept on winning, while Ngidi was impressive in his first few games, and then Philander's spell today was just magnificent. Then you've got the people around them like Morkel reaching 300, Bavuma making 95*, du Plessis getting back in form with a century yesterday, and Maharaj being pretty impressive at times. It just doesn't seem fair, haha! For England, it's cause enough for celebration when one player makes it to fifty at the moment, haha! Really enjoyed watching these series lately anyway, and even with big names retiring, the future for the SA team looks pretty good.
