HAYDEN GOES EARLY

The Indian's have made an idea start to the innings with the wicket of Matthew Hayden for just 1 run. Hayden was beaten by a corker of a ball from Pathan which shattered his off stump. Pathan is looking very dangerous, Inducing multiple edges which have just fallen short of the slips...

What a start by India! they have claimed two very dangerous batsmen to leave the Australian's reeling at 2/21. Pathan again got the wicket, He bowled a great leg cutter which took the edge of Punter's bat and flew to gully where Sachin Tendulkar made no mistake...

MARTYN TRAPPED

Damien Martyn has become the third victim of Irfan Pathan. Martyn was caught infront trying to flick an outswinger away through the mid wicket region. It was clearly plum and the umpire had no trouble giving it out. Martyn's time could now be short lived as he needs to perform in this series...

LANGER FALLS SHORT

Again the man of the hour Pathan has struck and removed the only batsmen who has been playing well, Justin Langer. He forced Langer into playing at a delivery which nipped away from off stump. An edge was induced and Sachin Tendulkar has no trouble taking his second catch to leave the Aussie's in trouble...

KHAN STRIKES

The home crowd favourite Brad Hodge was fallen for just 9. Zaheer Khan finally broke Pathan's incredible run of wickets when he bowled a ball that bounced up and surprised Hodge into playing a lofter drive straight to mid on. It was a great ball and Hodge was unlucky but in the end the Aussies are now 5 down...

Summary: The Aussies are only 25 runs away from the target even after loosing Langer and Martyn who were both playing well. They are in a very strong position with two solid players at the crease and with Adam Gilchrist still to come who knows how big the lead could get?

CLARKE REACHES 50

The Australian's now are in a commanding position after a superb innings from youn gun Michael Clarke. The bowlers have been unable to find an answer to his elegant stroke playing which is starting to show on the scoreboard. Another worry is the man at the other end, the dangerous Mike Hussey who is looking in good touch...

HUSSEY FALLS

The Indian's have swung the momentum again after breaking the big partnership forming between Hussey and Clarke. Mike Hussey fell to Pathan trying to guide a wide ball down to the third man boundary. The ball seamed in and hit Hussey's glove then fell onto the stumps. The next man in is the dangerous Gilchrist...

CLARKE OUT BEFORE 100

Sachin Tendulkar has proven his worth with the ball after claiming the vital wicket of Michael Clarke. Tendulkar pitched a spinning delivery just on off stump which drew Clarke forward. The spin then beat the middle at took the slightest edge straight to Dhoni who took a nice low down catch...

AUSTRALIA BOWLED OUT

The Aussie's have handed themselves a big lead with some good batting from Langer, Gilchrist and Clarke. Clarke's top score of 84 is sure to secure him a spot in the team for the rest of the tour while Gilchrist is looking back in form after having a dry spell. The India's must now try to bat confidently if they are to get back into the game...
