Yea he would have been handy. It is probably more reason for us to let our International player play in the KFC Big Bash. That way we can actually pick on form rather than assuming our Internationals are better than the domestic guys.

The one thing I still don't understand is why Hodge has been continually ignored by the selectors. He's gotta be in the running for one of the best players to not be in the national side. He was pretty decent in the IPL, as well, so he had some form going for him.

Hilditch and co. don't seem to like change or be able to make the hard (but ultimately beneficial) decisions which will take Australia from a currently no. 8 T20 side to a potentially no. 2-3 in the world at T20. How many blatant ongoing mistakes are we allowing them before the axe comes down?

It's definitely a mistake playing both Ponting and Clarke, especially when they are this out form. Clarke especially is just not cut out to play T20. Given almost 18 batting innings at T20s now he averages just over 15, diabolical considering Johnson would average about 20-25 if he batted as high as Clarke. The only thing we might miss if we dropped Clarke would be his tactical nous although Haddin is a pretty capable captain. Obviously the selectors have some sort of vendetta against Hodge who scores runs at will, and can both attack and defend, probably our best bat after the now gone Symonds.

Ponting should probably just retire from T20s considering his recent complaints about 'too much workload' etc. It doesn't help that he's shockingly out of form and the fact that the tournament won't do that any favours halting his momentum for the buildup toward the Ashes.

And with the bowling, why the hell don't they pick T20 specialists especially in England where the ball can move. Hilfenhaus is great for the game and they missed a damn big trick with no Nannes. Both Lee and Clark should probably have gone to play some domestic cricket somewhere in England instead of going to the tournament and getting hammered which means they miss out on both workload to improve fitness and also form for the Ashes.

Selectors seem to hate him, thats the only thing I can think of. He is easily one the top 3 batters in T20 and I would say would make any other starting 11.

Many slectors or big man leave the position, when their country failed to reached some knockout stages or in semis. Plz, now for God sake, I want our officials to leave the desk, so that we can have some better selectors and head. Hilditch you SOB step down :mad

They won?t stand down because they didn?t make the Super 8?s in a 20/20 world cup. The Aussie?s still don?t really care for the format it seems.

^^ Don't say that, Oz are out of the tournament, they played worst even though the had Ricky, Clarke Hussey's, Lee, Bracken. your Roy is busy fishing.

Oz were no competition in T20 and they preferred to return home early to practices for their "Ashes", LOL England's' coming out next. :D

lol exactly. If we epic fail in the Ashes then they may stand down, but there not even going to give there jobs a second thought because of some twenty20 tournament lol.

Well you can understand With Australia their main focus is winning the ashes in England

If they where bothered about Twenty20 world cup their players would have played in the IPL
