I say dont take him to sth africa or england. he needs to go to county cricket for the season. if he is batting well pick him in the first test in aus next summer.

I disagree. I think put him straight into the side. He is scoring runs and thats exactly what we are going to need. Playing county cricket wont help him out much at all. Half our problem at the moment is players coming into the side later in their careers and often getting a bit of a shock at the step up they have to make.

Michael Clarke was thrown into the test side at a young age and did brilliantly

Yep dont agree with the whole going to county cricket for a few years an making sure they perform both there an here otherwise they cant make the team.

If england was the most dominant team in world cricket then yes sending players there an proving themselves there in county cricket would be massively important.

The guy is on fire here an has proved himself to be a great up an coming player.
I hate it how when we look through the record books in say 10 years time there will hardly be any aussies on there because we pick guys so late we will never see many up in the highest run totals,most wicket totals etc.

An if hughes was playing for Vic could u imagine how much complaining bushy would be doing if he wasnt selected for Australia

But back then it was almost impossible to get a go playing for Australia.
Unfortunately for Hodge his time has passed.

Now with so many top quality retirements an selectors wanting a quick fix return to dominance its easier than ever to get a game for australia.
They give a guy a few games then try someone else.

Hughes needs to perform consistently like the hodge rogers d hussey have done for years not a year or 2. try him hughes in the one dayers to see how he handles it. cant go worse then warner or marsh.
