Victoria looking a bit like Australia with all the starts, lucky for them McDonald is saving their butt. No surprise that White is part of those starts.

Victoria will now have 3 guys playing for Australia. Long time since that has happened.

I thought Ferguson played really well yesterday, and has justified his selection. He had to fight through the troubles of an early Harwood assault and they were always another wicket down then what the scoreboard said with Tom Cooper retired hurt. Victoria had a smart field with that Gully, Point and another man not to far away in catching positions.

That Haberfield guy or whatever his name is is a bit like Magoffin. Runs in hard, hits the pitch hard but is only getting clocked around the low 130's.

McGain vs Krejza. An interesting battle of wits.

McGain certainly regaining his form from last year. Good signs for the Test side. Siddle ripped apart Tassie, 2 bowled is a decent effort and one of a yorker. Perfect time to be producing this with a replacement for Tait needed.

Dam Birt is smacking them now, 2 6s in 3 balls. Our middle order depth certainly isn't looking too bad.

Hodge back will be a big gain, our batting lineup looks pretty weak at the moment with him, White and Hussey out. We have a lot of depth in our bowling but not so much in our batting it seems. Finch fails again, I'm not seeing the promise there.

Not sure it was so much Victoria being bad with the bat as much as Birt being awesome. Nobody else could really do much on that pitch besides maybe Rogers, but Birt was definitely the difference. Australia could do with a guy like Birt who can actually score boundaries against quality spin.

Finch is going alright hes getting the starts and scoring them in quick time. I don't think he is going to be one of those players that you can rely on for consistent runs but he certainly can give the late hitting.
