Australian Domestic Cricket

100 to Butterworth, his first score of note in one dayers and he might have gotten Tassie over the line, nursing them to 254 after they were 5/57.

Yeah that's an amazing comeback from Tassie. I would have expected Western Australia would be chasing around 155 not 255.

Conditions must have been awful early on. What I saw from the WA bowlers when Butterworth was in was somewhat pathetic, the regular opening bowlers for WA being rested in favour of rank medium-pacers. To some extent Butterworth was lucky to be in such a position, but it was a rare lower order performance and he gave them the full punishment they deserved.

The Warriors now look unlikely to get over the line, wickets tumbling and apart from a promising 45 from Pomersbach, North is playing an all too familiar lone hand.

Good effort by Butterworth with the bat hes gone alright with the ball as well.
Doherty looks to have won the game for Tassie with 3 wickets, he has combined well with Krejza.

Manou makes his 2nd contribution with the bat, highest score by a keeper in the Shield as well. Bailey has a wicket in his return and looking economical while George after having an off day against Victoria has bounced back with 2 wickets.

And that game finishes in a totally embarrassing failure. Butterworth needed to defend the final over for less than 18 and in the process became one of those rank medium-pacers, repeatedly punished over midwicket. He landed only one ball of the six he bowled on the pitch, which included a no-ball for being waist high.

angryangy added 1 Minutes and 17 Seconds later...

Hundred to North, btw.

After the start WA had you would have expected they would have won, and they did, but not in the way we thought they would.

I really thought Tassie would win it after their spinner duo not only kept it tight but got wickets. Good to see North making runs going into the SA test series.

Just about to post how NSW are off to a great start, and I expect Mail will get out soon though, and I see Jaques gets out. Good start though, 57 runs in 19.3 overs is good with Snail Mail at the crease. I'm surprised to see Bird playing this match.

Bailey has 4 wickets on return geez why didn't SA play him more this season.
Good old Mail performs when his spot is under threat, still can't believe Steven Smith isn't in the side seeing how well he went with both bat and ball in the 2nd 11 match.

Conditions weren't that bad. I watched the whole match. The wicket was really hard and was bouncing heaps, which helped bowlers who bent their backs. WA got the rewards but then the Tassie bats held in there and got use to the hardness of the pitch.

So glad North is going to South Africa now. Hadn't watched him play all season, then saw his name in the squad and thought, "Who is this guy?" He looks the goods.

Thornley the hack fails again when the pressure if on. We have gone from 0-57 to 7/189. So that is 7-132 we have lost. Good to see Mail in the runs though. Surprised to see Bailey pick up a 5fer, SA have been full of surprises so far this match with first making over 489 with 3 century makers including Cosgrove.

Queensland declared 8/300 and SA are 3/68 in reply with Cosgrove (7) and Klinger (6) at the crease.
