Australian Domestic Cricket

SA are certainly running into some good form of late that seems to have started with Cosgrove returning. Christian continues his good form with the ball he like most of our all rounders just needs more consistency with the bat.

Too bad bushy isn't here!
Seriously can't believe Victoria managed to choke even after chasing only 187. Once again good bowling by Harwood followed by McKay. Only one Quiney could hold his head up for Victoria, White not only ran out Dussey he once again threw his wicket away. I hope that is the last we see of him in the ODI side as he doesn't have the temperament to play under pressure.
Great bowling by Rimmington and Laughlin they were the two that brought Queensland into the final and now they win it for them.

LOL yeh, please unblock him for like 1 day so we can see him have a whinge :D Can't believe the Vics choked. Well done Queensland

No change to our FC side with Warner still left out due to not doing enough in grade cricket.
Thought they might bring in another bowler like Hazelwood and maybe get Steven Smith in there.
Henriques has been added so hes got 2 games to do something this season.

Watson also returns as a batter only for Queensland.

Probably the worst NSW in their history. How on earth we got to the point where we have Cockley as our only specialist bowler I will never know. Henriques is far from being a bowler, Lambert isn't threatening enough at this level and Casson has only bowled 5 overs. I

Looks like Symonds beat the crap out of someone and I'm going to guess Casson. Also looks like a swansong ending for Love, though if they end up with a draw, I guess the headline will be "Love's Labour's Lost".

Hundred to Wade in the match at Bellerive, I guess that shakes up the keeper's hierachy which continues to tumble about, with both Hartley and Manou enjoying a glut of runs. Unfortunately, there has been no obvious choice for an alternative limited overs keeper, so Haddin has little hope of a rest in the next year.

Also some vital breakthroughs for Darren Pattinson, coming into the side with Harwood and Nannes taking rest. Handy to have such a bowler as a second stringer. They might regret omitting Holland, however, after Krejza took several first innings wickets.

Hopes bowling puts Watson effort earlier in the season at the Gabba into perspective. Once again it is down to Khawaja and Henriques to put a partnership together and I wouldn't have much faith in Henriques lasting too long.

Geeves has ripped apart Victoria batting putting them slightly on the back foot although with such a big 1st inns lead they just need one quick fire partnership then try to roll Tassie.

Pomersbach is again the stand out batter for WA, he is taking his time in this inns compared to his first one.

That is the topping on the cake for NSW. Casson career really has fallen apart since he was over looked for India.

Hopefully NSW bring up Hazelwood and Starc if Cameron or Bracken don't recover. Steven Smith in over Casson or one of the batters.

Too bad for SA, they look like they could give Victoria a run for their money but no hope of making the final now.

Thornley has said that Warner isn't ready for first class cricket yet. He didn't give a reason why that makes him different from half the team.

Warner remains FC less.

Dominic Thornely (captain), Nathan Bracken, Beau Casson, Ed Cowan, Burt Cockley, Phil Jaques, Usman Khawaja, Greg Mail, Ben Rohrer, Daniel Smith, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc.

Hopefully Starc plays, may as well see what he can offer. Steven Smith should also be given a go. Casson looks like he needs a break so I would put him 12th man.

Warner is now in the side replacing Jaques who is again injured. Should be interesting seeing how he goes and if it is enough to keep him at NSW.

Oh crap! Warner isn't ready! They're done for! Mitch Starc also made his debut, but it is Burt Cockley who continues his wicket-taking form. WA have been steamrolled to 7/167 and the worrying sign for them is that Aaron Heal is making it look like a belter, with 59 from 72 balls at tea. He is getting some support from his fellow spinners, Mangan at the other end holding his wicket and Casson throwing some pies their way.

Mark Cleary has 5 wickets against Tasmania. Though never really a contender for national selection, he has picked the worst possible time of year to find form, with Geeves and Magoffin already being sent to bolster the Australian squad in South Africa. With only 3 players making double figures, it's something of a contrast to the usual Adelaide first innings performance and the bowling looks to have been gun barrel straight. George Bailey, enjoying something of a breakthrough season, is the man standing in South Australia's way, looking set to make a hundred after tea, at which the score was 7/178.

The Vics were locked in a much less decisive situation with the Bulls, but they have just lost Symonds and Hartley to the swing bowling of the rookie Steve Gilmour. That double-wicket maiden left Queensland 5/105 and then Hopes fell to Pattinson to bring an early tea at 6/106. Watson remains at the crease and may yet be able to feast on the old ball, but he looks to be running out of partners.

Heal batting continues to impress me, now for him to make an impact with the ball. Our match looks exactly the same as our last match against Queensland only this time we are the team making it look easy. Cowan and Mail survived to stump and the WA bowlers haven't been able to make an impact. Cockley had his best game yet, taking early wickets which I don't think hes done for us yet.

Bailey finally notches up a 100 for Tassie, it's been a while since he had done that. Was surprised to see Cleary going so well, he has stepped up since becoming the leader of the pack and probably senses the pressure from George and Haberfield.

Victoria game Hasting continues to impress now he just needs a good knock. Also good to see Watson performing with the bat even after his team collapsed. Should be interesting seeing how he goes in the final which Queensland look set for after Tassie display.

Oohh hundred for Watto, despite the 2nd string attack from the Vics. Still - a 2nd string attack that had them 7/100 odd.

Symonds gone again for a low score. He can't make the Ashes now surely. It's gotta be Watson v North for the Aussie #6 spot. I'd say North if our bowling looks strong, Watson if we need more overs from somebody. But depends on how North goes in the next 2 Tests and how Watson comes back to the bowling crease. He was talking the other day about how his remodelled action might help him swing the ball a bit more. If he gets that happening, we are looking at a really good all-rounder I think.
