Australian Domestic Cricket

Was Lee hitting 90 mph last night for all who watched?.

He was hitting 140ish consistently and bowled a lot of slower stuff around 110-115. HE looked in really good nick and better be selected for the WC.

Word word. Did you watch the game on live stream or something?

I can't believe they had Henriques bowling to Pollard again... Maybe Stuart Clark didn't watch that Champions League a couple of years ago. But I bet Pollard remembers him well.

Yea, that's my only way of watching cricket :(

Oh. No need to feel sad my friend, although i have skypsorts here in ENG, i watch a few games on livestream.

But what webiste shows the stream for big bash games though?

:lol Haha ye i was just abt to mention that.

Way to bat Pollard down the order. They need to move him up to 4-5 in order for him to give them a chance of winning.

I dunno, everyone always says put Pollard up higher, but does he ever last more than 20 balls? Sure he scores a lot in those 20, but I think you want to play guys up higher who can bat for longer and then bring Pollard in when you want to put the foot down.

I'd bring him in around 10 overs no matter what. That's about the time when the innings is usually flailing a bit, and he could lift the tempo. Then by the time he's had his 20-30 balls of fun it's probably around 15-17 overs and by then everyone else is going hard as well.

I think the issue in this game was that even though he came in early enough, the game was buried at that stage. They had to score about 11 an over. What else was he to do? As it was, he brought the RRR down to something feasible, but they were out of wickets and the only way they were going to win is if he scored about half the runs like Warner did.

So there's an argument there that he should just generally bat higher, but he's definitely not the only batsman who could play more for time than a fixed batting position. It's a game in which an opener has a good chance of batting through, but a middle order batsman can just as easily miss out. It's criminal to hang on to your best player while your team is in a tailspin. The logic is simple; if you've got a matchwinner, get him out there when you can still actually win.

I went to the game last night. It would have been a lot more boring without Pollard. But with the Redbacks having to face basically the Australian XI bowling attack it was understandable that they struggled. I was hoping that Pollard could tear NSW apart just like he did for Trinidad & Tobago in the 2009 Champions League T20 when he scored 54 off 18 balls (5 6's) and got his side over the line. That one handed diving catch by O'Brien off a Tait no ball was a ripper. And how did Christian miss that run out a metre from the stumps in the last over.

Fair play to Stuart Clark... he did remember who got Pollard out in that final and it worked again

Was pretty funny last night how Fox had the camera on Henriques talking about how bad he bowled etc. etc. Then he took that absolute ripper of a catch, really made up for it there.

Pollard did bat well though, should be much higher in the order.

Geez, Vics got hammered. Wondering, whether some players had there minds elsewhere...

Wasn't even any of the Redbacks superstars, it was the medium pace of Christian that did the damage. Victoria starting to lose a lot more games now in this format.
