Australian Domestic Cricket

Reardon is a 1 in 10 innings player. Sure he has got some shots, but there's certain types of players who can only very occasionally perform to a certain level. Reardon is one of those players.

As much as Reardon's innings gave them a chance in the game, you have to say that he probably lost it for them in the last over. With 9 off 6 needed with only 2 wickets left, there wasn't a need to go for the six. He would've been much better off playing along the ground for a 4 or at least a 2. A 4 and 5 singles would've got them there.

He's been good this season, now the leading run scorer in the comp with three 50s and a hundred averaging over 50.

The Redbacks are in their best position to win a game all season at the lunchbreak on day 1 with the Vics 5/96. Mennie's been the destroyer with 3/11 off 8.5 and Tietjens chipped in with a couple.

Lunchbreak finished before I could type that Carters and Sheridan better stick around with McDonald, and Carters is on his way already.

Luckily the Vics have Siddle to take 5 or 6-fer in response.

Joe Mennie has been a revelation this season.

Siddle's batting again solid!!

Guess where Mennie is from? :p
Thought Quiney would go on, if he did then he could have booked himself a ticket to WI. Cooper now has a chance to get his name in the spotlight, definitely needs a 100.

I'm not sure SA came away with an advantage at the end. Victoria were 6/100 but then they got 220, which is serviceable and they took 4 wickets before stumps, emphasising the point. Mennie is a handful at times, but I'm amazed they field teams without either Richardson or Putland.

SA showing why they're winless, bottom of the table dwellers. Let the Vics post about 70 odd more than they should have, lost wickets before stumps and then lost their last 6 wickets for about 18 runs in the first session of day 2.

McDonald having a good game though, top scoring and taking 5-fer.

Don't know what the deal is with George, 1/66 in 16 overs for this match is quite cack.

Victoria again turn to Peter Siddle for guidance.

SA bounced back and had the Vics on the ropes once again at 9/104.. enter #11 Jon Holland who takes them apart for 55 off 39, second highest innings of the match :lol

first innings 7/118, second innings 9/104; just incredible to end up with a target of 300 when they shouldn't have scored 300 for the match.

Crazy match, Cooper now back to where he was last night with a few more runs. If either him or Ferguson want to make a name for themselves then a 100 on this pitch will go a long way.

Ferguson and Kuups got your message it seems, both brought up their 50's thanks to some donations from Herrick and White. Unless they can both push on, there's just not enough quality batting left for them to pull it off I think.

Siddle showing his class now. Both Ferguson and Cooper falling in quick succession. Looks like the nerves set in after lunch - Cooper's 50 was off around 70 balls and Ferguson's around 100, Cooper finished with 62 off 123 and Ferg 71 off 162.

Vic should wrap it up pretty fast now.

Always good to see a test bowler being a class above the rest as Siddle has done today. Shame that neither Ferguson and Cooper went on, in particular Cooper who needs a few more hundreds to make his stats look better.
