Good job by Head so far, moving along at a nice pace and not afraid to put the bad balls away. If he can keep it up and suck it out 'til the end, it should be a thrilling climax. Just hope he doesn't choke as his partners start going down.

Good effort but just falling short SA

Solid knock by Head, look forward to seeing how he goes from here.

Not bad by Bird, bit strange why Tassie didn't use him for his full 10 if not 13.

Not what he needed if he was looking to push for an ODI spot.
Doesn't look like good captaincy by specialist captain to leave at least 3 overs of Bird remaining when he was by far the best bowler.

The new ball did a bit, but Lynn and Burns took the game away, as they should have. Cowan has ably shown this is a perfect batting wicket. It wasn't going to be a bowl length and keep the batsman honest sort of wicket. The roles were pretty clear for Faulkner and Laughlin, but they didn't do very well. Krejza bowled late in the game like Doherty often does, but they also had to drag Butterworth in there; he too had good figures from the new ball spell but then went for 12 at the death. You wouldn't ordinarily go to a bowler "your first one day wickets? great! now carry my team!" He did his job and to be honest probably did plenty.

Very amusing. Good job.

Anyways I was wondering who you reckon will win the state player of the year award? According to the commentators on foxsports, they don't reckon the Big Bash is counted. Which is fair enough it's a bullshit tournament.

But based on that, I reckon the favourite would probably be Tom Cooper. He's one of the handful of blokes who have performed in both formats. Also the way the votes are counted with a 3-2-1 system, it rewards blokes who have MOMs instead of consistent performances and with a few big hundreds and good scores I reckon he would have to be a really good chance.

Quiney is a good chance as well. Cowan possibly, but has missed a few matches. Same with guys like Wade and McDermott. Blokes like Faulkner and McDonald might get a couple of votes due to their all-round skills, but my money would still be on Cooper.

I don't think it's a match-by-match vote, so pretty much anyone could win it. It depends who has done damage against who. NSW might give a lot of votes for Cooper, but WA probably wouldn't.

I believe he corrected himself later. Khawaja last year won with 35 and the next best was 12. It doesn't seem plausible that 130 odd votes are going out every game.

NSW continue to amaze. Dropping the best batsmen all season (Nevill) to play an extra bowler. And guess what we need now?

Haddin out for a duck, Khawaja another start and Hughes I'm guessing still coming to terms with his new changes.

Yeah I only realised the downside of dropping Haddin from the international side when it happened.. Nev's going to have limited opportunities :facepalm On the plus side, NCN has been the devastator... and over in Hobart, Bird taking wickets like a mf'er - 5/47 and still 2 victims remain. 28 wickets in just his 5th appearance and no doubt more to come.

From 4/85 to all out for 91 :lol Pitch is an absolute minefield, as WA are showing with their 0/48 off 12.
