Australia Lose Gillespie - Australia 9/250 - 6 To Win

Jacques Rudolph took his 3rd wicket for the match in one of the more controversial calls of the South African tour as Jason Gillespie was adjudged LBW with Australia within 6 runs of victory while South Africa only need 1 wicket to take the match.

Rudolph bowled a half tracker delivery which hit Gillespie high on the pads. Many in the ground, after reviewing replays of the decision, may feel that Gillespie was hard done by. Ill let you make up your own minds

6 runs..2 overs 1 wick...oh..cant wait long

sorry building the suspense (plus the nrl grand final was on) updates shortly

Hussey Brings Australia To Brink - 9/252 - 4 To Win Off The Final Over

Michael Hussey, along with Glenn McGrath, took Australia to within an inch of victory against South Africa with only 1 over remaining in the match. Australia require 3 runs to tie the game and 4 to win while South Africa only need 1 wicket to seel the match or restrict Australia to 2 runs or less.

Can Australia pull off one of the great tail end fights to claim victory and will Hussey show his maturity from a man who has only played a handful of One Day International matches.

The Game Is Tied - 1 Ball Remaining

Hussey To Face Rudolph

2 Runs from Glenn McGrath and a single from Michael Hussey has taken the game to a tie. If Hussey can manage to score off the last ball Australia will win. If he cant, or is dismissed the match will be a tie (which would be the third in these countries history together).

Hussey Scrambles For A Single...

AUSTRALIA WIN FROM THE LAST BALL

Australia pulled off one of the truely great lower order fightbacks to capture the first ODI against South Africa thanks to an unbeaten 29 from Western Australian batsman Michael Hussey.

Hussey used his feet well to clip Jacques Rudolph down the ground for a hurried single to give hand his side the victory, after a pressure packed final 10 overs came down to the last ball of the match.

(Michael Hussey clips one down to mid off for a single and then celebrates a remarkable victory)

The 37 ball innings from Hussey showed Australian fans of the level of toughness that is involved in Husseys game as he kept a cool head to win in one of the most dramatic finishes in one day cricket since these two teams clashed at the 1999 world cup in England.
