India Off To Cautious Start - India 0/39 (10)

Indian openers Mahendra Dhoni and Virender Sehwag took their side to a cautious 39 run stand without loss after 10 overs of play in Brisbane. The focus originally looks to be to build an innings for the pair, with Dhoni leading the runs with 22 (32) while Sehwag is not far behind with 16 (28). Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami have again kept the screws tight but have failed to take important wickets.

Dhoni Ups The Tempo - India 0/98

Mahendra Dhoni began to increase the tempo as India reached to 20 over mark with the score looking positive at 0/98. The young in form wicketkeeper batsman brought up his half century to be 59 not out from only 64 balls. Virender Sehwag has looked to play a supporting role with 33 from 56 balls. Shoaib Akhtar has been the pick of the bowlers, finishing his spell with 0/44 from his 10 overs.

Nice batting from India. They haven't lost a wicket so this puts them in a good position to make a huge total. Great work as always MWaugh :clap

India In Control - India 1/132

Wickets in hand appears to be the focus for the Indian batting lineup as the men in blue reached 1/132 after 30 overs at the GABBA. Despite only scoring at 4.4 an over, they have set themselves up for a large score with still 9 wickets remaining in the 20 overs in the innings.

Virender Sehwag has remained cautious with an unbeaten 55 while Mahendra Dhoni was dismissed for a well made 66, continuing his terrific run in this competition. Mohammad Sami and Kamran Akmal combining to dismiss the young star in the making.

Old Firm Take Control - India 2/222

Indian superstars Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag have put India firmly in control of the 5th VB series game with a clinical display from the 30-40 over point. Tendulkar (45* from 40), Dravid (30* from 18) and Sehwag (71 from 96) combined to score 90 runs in the session, loosing only the wicket of Sehwag in the process. The trio scored at 9 an over as India increased their scoring rate to 5.55 on the run home.

Tendulkar Finds His Feet - India 4/302

Sachin Tendulkar sent a loud and dangerously clear message to both the Pakistan and Australian camps as he lighted up the GABBA with a stylish 79 from 67 balls as India pounded Pakistan to be 4/302 after 50 overs. Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid (50 from 33 balls) and VVS Laxman (22* from 15) hammered Pakistan late in the innings to set their opponents 303 runs to win, at a required run rate of 6.06.

(India showed that wickets in hand are vital in setting up a large total)

Sachin Tendulkar celebrates his half century as he returns to form to lead India to 4/302

India's last 10 overs became very crucial scoring 80 Runs good work mate!

Pakistan Set About Run Chase

Pakistan openers Shahid Afridi and Salman Butt have taken to the field after the break as they begin their chase of 303 runs to win the 5th VB series match at the GABBA. Set a very tough challenge of 6.06 runs per over to win the match, the men in Green will need to keep wickets in hand themselves if they are to have any hope of chasing down the total.
