After David Warner finished the first innings in a humongous way, the rain started as expected. Weather experts already were warning that the rain gonna interrupt the match, which held true. The umpires waited for half an hour and declared the match abandoned due to rain.

As its a two match t20i series, there were few MVP points to be given, which were given as follows. Warner was given 7 points, Paine was given 2 points and Jonathan Trott was given 2 points.

The second of the two T20i's is scheduled on the same venue on 1st September.

The most painful news for all the Australian and English T20 fans came up. The second of the two T20i series between Australia and England was declared to be abandoned a day before due to unfit playing conditions. Continuous rains at Old Trafford just destroyed the out field, and inclusion of some hail stones destroyed the total pitch. ECB officials said that the series was declared abandoned 'cause even the first T20i ended in no result.

Cameron White, the Australian Skipper expressed his disappointment by saying few words, which stated that he had some new game plans, which he could have implemented.

Well, given a chance, I'd have introduced a new game plan, which I've planned few weeks ago. We had players like Rohrer, who were to still to wear an international cap, but tough luck, that din't take place. And T20 is a format where a youngster gets an environment where he can show what he actually is. It wassa good batting surface, we'd have Ben at 4 or 5, with which, he could have proven himself. Even I had few bowling plans even, which I could have introduced, and check out if they work out or not. And hopefully, if I get another chance, I'd be a happy man on this world as Pup will take over me in January against Pakistan, Windies and Kiwis.

The Next T20i of Australia is at Melbourne Cricket Ground against Pakistan.
