Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

Good and very satisfying hundred from Murali Vijay! The maiden test ton!! Very well played, boy! Keep it going. We need to get to Australia's total and put pressure on them to try and win this game. Its very much possible.

Not a chanceless innings as Ravi Shastri said (a run out was missed, and a LBW not given) but very good knock when the team needed it.

If you're not watching live, have a look at ball 79.1 on the Hawkeye app

at least their being consistent.

seems the criteria to give someone out LBW this series is that it's either definitely not hitting the stumps or pitched out-side leg.

no other controversial decisions, but a slew of LBW appeals have been wrongly given not out or out.

kat finding his length a bit now. trouble with a bowler who rarely bowls is that you might need to give them a bit more faith than you can spare.

Vijay is proving to be an extremely useful backup opener.

Hauritz doesn't have a lot in his repertoire to counter flat pitches. Is Ponting bowling him with defensive fields and letting him be picked off for easy runs, or is he attacking with him?

TBH I don't think anyone really has a lot to counter the pitch. There was something for the spinners when the surface was tacky on day 1, but after that, it was tough for India's bowlers as well. Zaheer Khan and Sreesanth both might have done well with reverse swing, but they didn't really find enough of it. For all the bowlers' sakes, we just have to hope it gets a bit different later on.

We really are missing Bollinger, he is has that aggression needed for this pitch. Siddle could have been handy as well. George has been solid, should be better for the run. Hauritz well less said about him the better.

How is the crowd for today? Has it been as good as the first 2 days? If so, then it again goes t show how test cricket in the bigger cities can still draw crowds.

Coming back to the match, India are batting very slowly since the first session. I think we should look to force the pace here and try to put the Aussies into bat by tea tomorrow. At the moment, we are taking the game nowhere.
