Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

Yeah, Steven Smith can be a good option at that number or lower. He provides an all round option which is way better than services of North.

No i don't think they should go for Hodge again call Ferguson or Klinger they are better choices
Who said Hodge? And Klinger on the basis of what? CL T20? Or has he done something in domestic?

^Yeah Hodge is too old for this now. Australia should look to build for future. I really liked how Ferguson played in CL.

Ah well, Syl added that afterwords. I won't get that desperate to get him back. Ferguson is a better option. One for the future surely.

That's what i also said Ferguson should be given chance or may be Khujawa saw him just one time and he looked quite good

And the trend of post McWarne era batting collapses continues...

Although it may turn out to be a great innings from Watson, he was poor after Ponting got out. Went into a ridiculous shell & allowed the spinners to bowl to him too much, he definately should have been able to find more scoring area's. I guess such an innings sort of proves why long-term he may stay opening in tests.

Tipping this to be a great summer for Ponting with the blade. Looked like the Ponting of his peak today. India & ENG bowlers beware...

North obviously back under pressure again, although he got a good ball. A second innings failure & he has to be dropped for good.

The ball is reversing has predicted, so the AUS bowlers will know what they have to do.

Why do India keeping playing @ the venues with so much empty seats these days?. I thought they learned their lesson from the Kolkotta tests vs SA earlier this year, how important playing at the tradition test venues with strong intimidatory crowd support helps them.

I reckon also win or lose this test. IND should strongly consider playing 3 spinners @ Bangalore.

Sure. Why not?

No, not for me. T20 performances just don't do for me for a player to get to the Test side. It is just not proper cricket. Klinger does look a solid bat but has been doing well in domestic FC?

Just came back from college, missed quite a few things. Really waiting to see the highlights

This is why Raina is so damn useful. He's one of the best fielders in the world right now. The number of runs he saved today with his fielding as well as the awesome runout of Ponting, really phenomenal. Stands out like a bulb in the dark in the Indian team with regards to fielding.

Seriously, if this guy keeps an average of above 30, in effect his average will be 50. Far more useful than some of the other guys like Yuvraj at the moment.

Yes Klinger has piled on the runs for South Australia, in a big way. check the stats.

We can add Jaques & Rogers to list of options as well of course. Haha these bloody selectors...

Annoyed this isn't on SkySports. Anyone know of a legal (and prefferably free) way to watch it in the UK?

That wicket of Ponting was some great fielding. Hussey and Clarke struggled. Clarke was continuously coming down the track don't know what was the thought behind it. The wicket was not turning that much. Sharma is injured?

Excellent day. To keep Australia down to 224 for 5 wickets on a very good batting track is very very good. Didnt expect this. But worried that Watson is still there on 101*. Batting is going to be great on Day 2 and 3. Hope we can somehow finish this quickly and get into batting.
