Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

I don't think many people ever would have imagined a couple days ago that it would get this close.

Flame me if you want but I have to say this, what Sachin did was irresponsibility at it's best.

Yea, it was pretty stupid. Shouldn't have tried anything fancy. Keep it simple.

... and some of the most dubious umpiring decisions.
This game hasn't been that bad. The only bad decisions have been LBWs which are hard to call anyway. You can't complain about LBWs being missed since that happens in every game and LBWs are a judgment call anyway.

Well I'm gonna watch the rest of the game while attempting to fall asleep. I know y'all will miss my colour commentary.

plus you can't really blame umpiring decisions when the home team opts to play without UDRS

i didnt just mean to point out the wrong decisions.

but some weird sh*t like .. field umpire going to 3rd umpire for no-ball calls, thn no balls being called when it isn't :D

India-Aus matches gets the best of umpires too...

When they referred that run out decision in the final over before lunch, they should have first referred the decision of Watson touching the rope or not before referring the run out. Had Watson touched the rope, the run out wouldnt be a matter at all (because its a four and the ball is dead after that). Luckily for them, Watson fielded it OK.

Well the third-umpire no ball call was apparently a rule so no issues with that and in fact I'm glad that the umpire took the time to get the right decision.

Laxman continues his good run of form against the Australians. The match is getting interesting now. Still in the favor of the Aussies, but who knows if Laxman bats through and Ishant just provides him the necessary support, India could manage to win this. We guys shouldn't forget how Ishant and Ojha batted against Murali when he was desperately trying to get his 800th test wicket.

Also, the interesting thing is Laxman's scoring pace. I have never ever seen Laxman scoring at such a rate. I guess even he has realized that there is still a thin possibility of a victory.

^^ With Ishant Sharma, I did expect him to last but not at all confident with Ojha.
So for me, its either the current pair getting us through or a win for Aus.

Ah crap Bollinger is injured, explains who Smith came onto the field for. Not good as he was our best bowler today.

It's all about intent. Unfortunately no Indian batsman apart from Sehwag seems to understand that. Ponting doesn't have a ton of runs to defend - if we had managed to get off to a decent start instead of bottling up in the morning, eventually Ponting would have had to push back a couple of the fielders. Tendulkar really should've been more positive, especially since Ponting decided to open with Hauritz in the morning session. Instead he seemed content to let Zaheer face the heat.

What's worse is that these guys are still completely incapable of playing rising balls. They might as well give up international cricket. I'm surprised the Aussies did not try to ruthlessly exploit that in the first innings - a missed trick by Ponting methinks.

Four for VVS and that's a fifty. Very Very Special indeed.

48 to win. Hang in there Ishant.
