The match was pretty boring IMO, apart from White's innings, nothing interesting happened.

McKay is boringly brilliant.

he doesn't seem to possess any special weapon that singles him out but he's just a great bowler. I definitely would like to see him in the ODI squad permanently, he's better than bracken.

McKay is in the mould of Clark and McGrath. They don't look like much but they always pick up wickets. Clark seems to have lost his ability to pick up wickets on the flatter decks hence he was dropped. I can see McKay making it in all forms soon enough.

Good effort to get the big two early as they would have made this chase real easy. Voges might be falling down the order with Bailey and Birt both in great form and again performing. And cheers for the speeds Angry, good to know Tait still has it.

Yep that's exactly what I was going to say. He is a very good containing bowler and has very good change ups.

He picked Sachin up when he was on 175 too :banana2

I enjoyed the game, it wasn't a classic but it was a good way to start the season, I'm excited for the summer ahead and I don't think it's going to be as one sided as many people seem to think it will be.

McKay played well and even Steve Smith was solid on debut, lets hope he's not the next one to fall into the spinners graveyard we seem to be sending a lot of guys to in the last 24 months

Smith has his batting to fall back on but I would say he will make the step up. NSW are giving him lots of responsibility and even playing him as the lone spinner this week. We might even see him this summer in another T20 or ODI.

I would like to see this idea of most of the test/ODI guys being left out of the T20 games continues to give these younger guys a chance. It's definitely better to give them the first exposure to internaitonal cricket in 'less important' matches as they will be better equipped to cope when they have to make the next step up

^Indeed. We've got plenty of players that play the short form well. Bailey was impressive last night. White and Tait are made for it. I really think that no player should be allowed to play all 3 forms - 2 at most should be the limit.

And Clint McKay is good - yes. I think he's gotta be the new Stuart Clark like bowler, the steady one :)

Thats a great point- I too think no players should play all 3 forms. Judging by the state games we have plenty of guys who can turn it on in the 20/20 format, even ODI format. Haddin for instance is crazy for being allowed to play all 3, Clarke too. If the board REALLY does think tests are more important then they need to make sure we dont have 9 injuries all going on, seperate teams has to happen.

Guys, its official, Star Cricket will telecast it in India as I've seen an Advertisement of it.
Live from 1:53 PM IST.
And Gajan, I feel you better edit the first post with telecasting details so that it'll be helpful for people:)

Glad you got to see it. I wasn't sure what the go would be. Australian Domestic Cricket is now only shown on Pay TV here. Where as this All Star game was televised by Channel 9 which only show Internationals now.

There isn't anyone really saying pick me for the T20 format so the selectors are really left with no choice. Paine was good in the ODIs but it would be harsh to drop Haddin who is up there with the leading run scorers.
