Australia vs ACA All Stars XI - Single T20 Game

Interesting to see how Gilly will go against Tait, but I feel the others will get eaten alive.

Why the hell isn't Hilfenhaus playing for Australia? Seems to have just dropped off the radar despite being a long term prospect in good form.
 
The All-Stars is not a well picked limited overs team, simply because of that bowling attack. Even in a 4 day game, Drew shouldn't be there.
 
Drew is more a OD bowler but Hilfy has been one of the picks in both forms of the game. Both of them have 6 wickets this season but Hilfy a better average. I certainly would have gone Hilfy as this would have been great experience for him. Can't past Geeves though hes averaging 11!

If we were going for a OD form it would be Bird, Tait, Hilfy with Heal the spinner. Now that is some lineup! Tait and Hilfy getting early swing then Bird and Tait doing reverse swing.
I hope they play the 7 batsmen as it would be far too much to expect Noffke to be the 7 once again. Only problem is they don't have any all rounders so they will be needing a part timer.
 
They picked most of the all-star team from the list of the 12 best guys from last years 20-20 big bash, I'm pretty sure. So that's why Drew is in and not Hilfenhaus. It's got nothing to do with talent, recent form etc. All due to last years 20-20 form, plus a spot or 2 for the has-beens Gilly and Langer

That does not explain Brendan Drew, who took 2 wickets at 67.5 with economy of 9. It really doesn't explain Magoffin, who didn't bowl at all in last year's T20s.

I think a lot of guys might have turned this game down, especially bowlers, as it's not like there is more than a day's gap in the schedule for it; Saturday's Victoria vs Tasmania 4 day match has been adjusted for a lunchtime start. In fact, I'm surprised Magoffin and Cullen are going, when they are playing at Adelaide until Thursday. I guess for Magoffin and Drew, who are from Brisbane and Lismore originally, it might be a rare chance to play in front of family.
 
Any idea as to what channel they're going to be airing this game in India, if it all it is being aired?
 
Should be a good way to kick off my weekend.

This is being shown on Channel 9 right?
 
My friends 21st is on that night, wont be able to watch. Well, some of it I could I guess. Shame.

Looks like a fun one to watch. I'm backing the Australia team.
 
I can't wait. It will be great to see Gilly back again. I don't care if he doesn't mate runs, just to see him batting will be great. Knowing him, it'll be somewhat of an anti-climax and he'll go out first ball or really early.
 
Whooo Gilly, Go Allstars. I hope I can find a stream of this or something.
