Bangladesh tour of Namibia

i think sometimes the icc should step in and give exclusive rights for their countries games and work out something...u know what i mean andrew...yes the money factor but cant the icc pay it or just the finals because this is how u get people watching and interested...u dont have to start live start with television...i am sure icc can talk to tsn here in canada and work out something

sometimes the icc have to just step up to the crease to a bouncer

well since we agreed(almost) i decided to change the subject...like dont u think that icc should give canada or holland exclusive rights to broadcast their countries game? the money is a issue but the icc should just try and dig some out of its pockets and eventually the game will develop...

TV Coverage is a good idea, but these things are driven by other factors. Cricket isn't that popular in Canada and Holland, so selling advertising during cricket may be difficult, as thos adverts may not reach a wide audience. Holland used to be OK, as they could get the BBC (English TV channel) but the BBC lost the rights to England's home Tests in 1999.

Cricket is Holland's 30th most watched sport on television...that's very, very sad...

The ICC needs to improve on what I think is a relatively solid domestic system by advertising it and bringing in star players from other countries to promote the sport...just like Wasim Akram will do when he comes to New York sometime in 2004...

I'd go for that, but what about matches like this one, between a full member and an associate member? (not including Kenya of course) If these aren't even classed as List A, I think it will be a little unfair.
That would only happen during say an 'Asia Cup', 'World Cup', or 'Chamions Trophy', all of which should be counted as ODIs because they include a majority of ODI standard teams...but it does bring in a block of some sort, but the idea of having a division would be quite interesting...call it an interdivision match perhaps??

Maybe the ICC Division 1/2 (what ever you want to call teams ranked 11-15) can have a points system as well, just for measures...

Of course this would count as a List A type (or Division 1/2 match)...

Getting back to the topic, Bangladesh beat Namibia by 6 runs, not very convincing, considering Namibia's performance in the world cup. I'll try and find the full scorecard ASAP.

I had a look on the Nambian Homepage and the Bangladesh Homepage, and it isn't there. Are you sure they played?

*EDIT* I seen the incomplete scorecard so i guess they did play

I found the full scorecard and it was a 7 run win not 6. The second match also took place yesterday.

1st Match

Bangladesh: 261/7 (Hannan Sarkar 76, Habibul Bashar 65, Rajin Saleh 51)
Namibia: 254/7 (Burger 57, Kotze 77 not out)

Bangladesh win by 7 runs

2nd Match

Bangladesh: 204/7 (Mohammad Ashraful 67)
Namibia: 193/8

Bangladesh win by 11 runs

Bangladesh were a bit more convincing in the final match of the series, to secure the series 3-0.

Result

Namibia: 198/9
Bangladesh: 199/5 (Shahriar Hossain 72)

Bangladesh win by 5 wickets

It would have been the worst possible thing , to lose to Namibia.

Nambia recently beat Zimbabwe A in a 3 day game, and in a 4 match one day series, won 3-1.
Looks like our forum team could beat Zimbabwe A.

Let's mail the Zimbabwe cricket board challenging them to beat us.
