Into the final one and we're tied up at 2-2. England took the ODI series 3-0; can they walk away with the T20I trophy too? or do the Windies hit back hard to please the home crowd? Here we are at the decider-
It's been a good series, says Buttler, lauds the Windies team for being good competitors throughout. Says they will give their best so they can take the T20I trophy home too, hopefully. Tom Kohler-Cadmore will be making his T20I debut today, in place of Jonny who has been rested. Mark Wood and Atkinson too come back in for Curran and Luke Wood, while Livingstone is rested for Rehan Ahmed.
England XI: Jos Buttler
, Will Jacks, Ben Duckett, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Rehan Ahmed, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue
(Changes: Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Rehan Ahmed, Mark Wood & Gus Atkinson
, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran & Luke Wood
)
Powell says they're on the right track and have certainly learnt from the ODI series to bounce back and take this to the last game. He says they should hopefully continue the momentum and backs them in front of the home crowd. Only one change, Joseph goes out for Motie- an extra spin option.
West Indies XI: Shai Hope, Evin Lewis, Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran
, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell
, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie, Jayden Seales, Obed McCoy
(Changes: Gudakesh Motie
, Alzarri Joseph
)
West Indies to Bat First
A single partnership effort today between Pooran and Hetmyer, them making 143 runs out of the total after the Windies Top 3 are all dismissed in quick succession for single digits. A decent pull-back from WI to get to 165 from there
England's bowlers haven't been specifically impressive- Jacks bowls a good spell while Moeen, Wood and Tongue all pick a wicket each. But they did well in the powerplay to rattle the top order and restrict WI to a par score.
A great effort from the English Opening Pair helps them chase this down with no struggle. Buttler and Jacks both score ffities, and Duckett contributes with a valuable 18 ball 35 to accelerate things and get it done quickly. Sad for the debutant duck though
McCoy literally the sole wicket taker for WI with all 3 of their scalps, but going at 11.4 an over. Only Hosein was economical of the five, and it wasn't enough to defend a score like that against this England Lineup.
