Bangladesh tour of New Zealand 2022

Bangladesh have previously done well in New Zealand too.

They were the last team to score 500+ runs infact scored almost 600 runs 595 for 8 against New Zealand in New Zealand back in 2016/17 when Shakib got a double hundred.

Maybe better batting wicket by New Zealand this time around unlike the last few years , the pitches become very flat and very good to bat once the grass wears down as the match progresses in New Zealand.

Yeah, that stat surprised me.

Its a new look Bangladesh team, devoid of their super stars- Tamim, Shakib, etc.

They have reverted to the classical 'BLOCK IT' methods to counter the Kiwis here. Surely, Latham and the boys can think of something here. That said, hope they continue the performance in the remainder as well. It's quite typical of Ban to throw it away after a good start.

The pitch has been flat AF since the last session on day 1.

Bangladesh are doing well in at least getting themselves to a no-lose position, which I guess, against the World Champions, is a good result away from home in the WTC.

Great day of mental fortitude for Bangladesh, really enjoyed watching them bat today. Tomorrow should be an interesting day with the pitch showing signs of variable bounce towards the end of the third session.

Mominul might be the worst reviewing captain I've ever seen. :lol

Ebadot was the last pacer I'd have backed to do this sort of damage. Pleased for him and his management, they've backed him a lot and deserve some reward for it.

Not a coincidence that two of the U-19 WC winners have also made an impact on the game. Integrate more of them well and Bangladesh will have a really good team in this decade.

I also think Liton Das can be a really solid test keeper averaging in the mid 30s if they get him to focus on tests exclusively for now. A bit tempting to get him into LOIs given how aggressive he is in comparison to the other Bangladeshi batsmen but I feel they've got a good option in him who can potentially sort out their keeper issue for the next 5-6 years in tests.

I expected Bangladesh to get blown away like against Pakistan. Stunning performance so far. Even with NZ effectively 31/8 in the third innings, i still wouldn’t put it beyond Bangladesh to let this one slip somehow.
