Batting in career mode is a serious issue

I am playing as a Batting allrounder (Wrist Spinner)
As a part time bowler I am getting alot of wicket :D

But as a No.3 batsman I am more like a tailender.
Even with front foot straight bat (Stick moved straight)
I am getting bowled on spin bowling, Getting caught on every shot I play.
Highest score in One Day is 21 and 23 in first Class.
More frustrating thing is I am even getting out LBW or bowled or played on even if i defend. :mad

Let me know if you guys have the same issue.

You also have to take into account that when you start your career the batsman has very low skills and will start playing better shots once his skills start building up. I have noticed that as the career progresses and skill points build up the batsman can hit boundaries with a little more ease. However, playing some spinners is very hard and takes a little time getting used to; i usually play one or two sweep shots against a spinner to judge his pace.

Haven't tried bowling in career yet so cant comment on that.

:D It might not tough for you mate. But for people like me who do not have similar reflexes its really hard nut to crack. Even without single aggressive stroke till now highest individual score is 68 and highest team total 201.

So if you come out of career and do not count five 5, batting is quite tough at pro. :(

I know I am awful with batting in this game but atleast I am in majority :yes :D

Also I do not like to lose every single match I play out of career mode. Won 6/31 (1 T10 , 1 T20, 4 Five 5):noway

Good thing is that till now my team did not lose a single game in career mode. :D

In anyway, I am not implying its unplayable or massively tough. On the contrary its very enjoyable in shorter formats and career. Just a tad bit reduction in difficulty with fielding patches will enhance fun and playability enormously. Anyone playing only career or Five 5 may not feel it tough at all because seeing one batsman getting out cheaply does not cause that much impact, compared to playing longer format like test match and getting all out for less than 100 against Russia.

Just my views, I may be completely wrong and just doing loser rants due to my inability to adapt which usually I am not proud off. :)

Personally I don't have a problem with the batting, guys shouldn't expect to be scoring big scores consistently at the start of a career.

I think the problem here is that guys are loosing patience and getting frustrated by the lack of success then instead of working at getting better, they jump on the "the game is too hard" wagon.

Food for thought... Jacques Kallis was averaging 8.1 after his first 7 innings in test match cricket. I guess he should have given up as well :rolleyes

um.... if we are being honest he did give up like a few months back ijs...

:) well... now that you mention it...

but no, seriously, I actually think career bowling is too easy, as apposed to the batting being too hard, I really shouldn't be getting 8 wicket hauls as a 16 yo off spinner in Ausie conditions.

The last part of this is the major issue with the game imo.

The batting is pretty hard, front foot, back foot, timing, placement etc . Combined with the absurd fielding/catching abilities and you have a recipe for frustration.

Fixing the fielders will go a long way toward making it better... However...

There will still be the biggest problem, and that is the ai can't handle player bowling.
It Makes for ridiculous bowling figures.

My career pro is a wrist spin all rounder. In my 1st match, a 4 day, I got 13 wickets. In the first innings of my second 4 day I got 8 - 15. My 3 batting innings are 3 3 and 0

This is a 16 year old part time spinner. And I'm not particularly good at the game.

That is completely broken.

What difficulty were you playing on?

Batting Allrounder Wrist Spinner.

Batting Allrounder Wrist Spinner, is what my career is set at.. I have been able to take 3 - 10 wicket hauls. However batting is a disaster.. it is so different when i play a casual match.. I have more than 5 golden ducks .. and highest score is 18. :( any help or tips..

Patience is what i used to get the 18 run top score.. took a break came back and lost my wicket immediately.

@surrender
I was struggling big time in First Class and ODI level but then came the T20 tournament. I looked to score and I dominated the bowling. My T20 average is 26 at a SR of 137. I applied this aggressive approach at first class to an extent. I find it much easier that way and can now get to double figure much more reqularly.
The thing is that the blocking has been made a fuss in this game. It should be done with sticks only and button press should have not been mandatory in blocking. You are basically asking too much from a player for a block. I find hitting a lot easier than blocking. . That should not be the case. If at all I will love to see blocking altered a bit. In cricket, batsmen sometimes premeditate stroke playing but they seldom premeditate a block. In the game however, I have found out that I have to premeditate to block.

Blocking is not tough at all, it still uses only one button to block. Where are you seeing multiple buttons? i.e. it's just footwork + direction + defensive button! Which is perfect to me that gives complete control for blocking.

Exactly, its pretty simple...

Really thats the minimum amount of input you could possibly require, front or back foot, shot placement and mindset...

I bet if the defensive shots was one button only, the same guys would be complaining when they get caught bat pad because they cant steer the block away from the fielder.

The control system is genius and finally gives you the feeling of actual cricket, its EXACTLY what I was hoping it would be. Please don't change it

Anyone who is playing with career mode and complaining about the batting should remember the following:

- you are a 16 year old and unless you have played career through 3 times or you have Sachin Tendulkar like abilities, you are going to suck.
- you don't have any skills really, I am pretty sure that Martin bunny from New Zealand has better skills than you. (someone should compare this in game)
- you don't have any experience with this game yet. If you have been playing for a month and you still struggle then it would be difficult. Right now you just suck cause you are a noob. You have to decide whether you want to

So if you manage to get your skills up, have some experience and still struggle then by all means complain, but until then man the **** up.

And yet the same 16 year old is virtually unstoppable with the ball...

If one matched the other then it would be difficult but reasonable.

I still don't understand why there is sucha huge increase in batting difficulty from amateur to pro. It's only one stage higher.

Its career. It starts on pro doesn't it?

I haven't got the game yet as I have the misfortune of being in the UK. I don't know if you can change it, but was under the impression it could be so batting would be easier. Looks like I'm wrong.

Starting level on career can be changed, the game then automatically levels up as you progress through the ranks
