They're different experiences. PC has massive maps, more vehicles and a better scale, but on console you have more of an effect on how your team does. Requires some real tight teamwork.

Trying to get all ribbons. Only have about ten left, but realised four are to do with Squad DM and Squad Rush.
So I searched on the server browser, and found there is only one Squad Rush server in Australia and three Squad DM servers in Australia
. Pathetic EA, America isn't the only country in the world. America has 208 servers.

Finally got two kills in jets as well, both on helicopters in the same match in a Conquest on Kharg Island.

I don't think my computer's good enough for this I have the settings on their lowest and I still get under 30FPS (I think) and the game hangs heaps. Might have to reduce the resolution as my last resort but I hate doing that.

The planes are completely broken on consoles and I'm pissed at EA shipping a broken game like this. Was looking forward to jets a lot but it is impossible to make them useful in consoles by doing effective A2G damage.
Apparently they are good in PC, people get ground kills with them and actually help with the objectives.

I thought the same thing, but in reality, they are definitely brilliant for air to ground combat. I reckon it's a bit too hard to kill other planes, but tanks on the ground are so easy.
Basically get a low angle on the ground and spam the spot bottom. Give yourself a lot of time to try and spot as many vehicles as possible. Then, pass over the map, do an upward turn in the air, again giving yourself a lot of time, and destroy the tank, or atleast disable it. Easy and effective tactic that worked for my immediately. Becomes even easier when you unlock rocket pods.
This is the video I watched showing this tactic.
Better yet, get some mates who will spot the tanks from the ground for you to make it easier for you.
Still really loving the game. I've managed to pretty much master the jets and helicopters, and I've unlocked everything in the game. I'm level 46 now, colonel service star 1, and am only a few hours away from the platinum
.The campaign is bloody terrible though, even worse than Black Ops. Looks like they put more effort into the decent looking loading screens than the campaign itself. However, the engine helps to make it more bearable, as the gun handling, parkour style gameplay and brilliant sound and visuals make it feel a bit more like a real war. Basically everything that's in the multiplayer that's good is good here too. Hard mode is just cheap though, not challenging. Instead of making the set pieces and enemies hard to overcome, they've made it like COD where the trick is to memorise where enemies spawn, and also certain places where there are infinite spawns where you just have to run and hope you get lucky.
Co-op is pretty fun though, I especially like Hit n' Run and Fire from the Sky. Hope there is more co-op DLC as six missions is a pretty poor offering.

I'd really love it if games like this let you sign up for a service (be it Army, Air Force, whatever) so if you fly Air Force, you only ever fly jets and choppers - you don't have to 'get lucky' enough to be close a jet before someone else jumps in it and steals your ride. I'm not much of a fan of ground based combat MP games (mainly because I'm crap at them ) but I'd be OK if I was in a jet or chopper all the time.

Going by PC Gamer's review, the PC version is pretty unstable right now - their advice is to buy it when it's been patched.

I can't bloody stand Origin, it's easily the worst thing about Fifa 12.
That's what happened to me when I had to reinstall Fifa 12. First time round it installed from the disc, but then it insisted on downloading the whole flaming game through Origin, so in the end I gave up and let it.
You were lucky mate. Since Origin is the same crap that shipped with Fifa 12, I bet there are plenty of BF3 owners who had to download the whole game despite having the disk.

If you only like jets and choppers, just jet camp or chopper camp. Jet camping is very easy, just try and be fast at the start of the match and only play Caspian, Firestorm and Kharg.

Exactly what i do with the choppers...
never go on foot,, helicopters are the only way for me..
Agree with master blaster,,, should be a pilot class,, then i havent got to battle with players who are total garbage at flying just to get in one..
