Best Express Pace Bowler

Manee, Shane Warne was a one off because he is so damned good, but generally in my eyes, if you're a proven cheat your name shouldn't be mentioned in the "best," catagory. Shoiab Akhtar is a cheat, he took proformance enhancing drugs, and has therefore lost his way lately, he has no commitment to the teams he plays for, which disgusts me.

Darren Gough was a bit nippy in his pomp; I'd choose him if we was express.

Akhtar's attitude is disgusting. Plays for him and no one else.

Gough hit 90mph consistantly on his day so he can be considered. So who is your final choice Evo?

PS: Jimmy Anderson does not count! :p

Darren Gough was Fast-Fast Medium borderline so he wasn't express. Yeah he was a cracker in his highpoints.

Well if Anderson is ruled out, i'd have to pick Colin Barmy.

But i'll go with Gough purely because he's English and everyone knows England are better than everyone at everything.

Steve Harmison, West Indies - World Best Fast Bowler!

Since, worlds worst? :p

I only started watching cricket in 2003 so I can't comment on the 90's.

Lee - extremely quick, very fit, doesn't break down, great team player, reliable, very good in both forms of the game.

Akhtar - same except he isn't a team player. He's Sachin Tendulkar with 4000 times the ego and a millionth of the commitment.

I also have to put Collingwood's name in the hat. The Indian batsmen were blown away by his pace.

Clearly you haven't seen Sreesanth!

That was a low blow, I apologize. *kisses wristbands*

Except cricket.:p

My choice would be Waqar Younis. I feel that his inconsistancy is a moot point based on just how fantastic he was in his high points. Having the best test strike rate (its true) shows how he played the role of the RF wicket-taker brilliantly. Unlike others who rely on simple bouncers and yorkers, he relied on the latest swing around and already with no time to react, he has batsman missing the ball by several inches with the stumps shattered and batsman walking to the pavillion, knowing they have been outpaced.

Shaun Tait shows a similar wicket-taking ability in ODIs with a strike rate of 26, what do y'all think of him?

Sreesanth is India's Akhtar in my opinion. I dont like him one bit, shows up the pride of India, India have always been an aggresive, yet loyal team. He takes it to far, therefore i have taken a serious disliking.

Brett Lee, is probs the best at the moment, although no action for a while, followed by Shane Bond.

@Matt - C.Barmy is a little bit "wristy" for my liking. :p

I think Shaun Tait is a two length bowler. He doesn't have enough variation at all.

Ahh Manee, id forgotten about the Slingster, Tait is a bit young, inexperienced, but he will be Lee's replacement in 3-4 years.

I wouldn't include Malinga as a lot of his success is due to his unorthodox action and he can only really bowl yorkers and bouncers.

Craig White touched 90mph in 2000 :p

He touched 96mph in 1998 in a roses game!!!

My new choice; Craig White. England's greatest all rounder ever.

I have to say Manee I haven't had as much fun as this in a thread since the Superthread passed away (rip james) so I offer my thanks and my virginity...no wait, just the thanks.

Aye, much the same as Tait. Two length bowler. If it doesn't come off then your in slight bother.
