Best sports movie

Remember the Titans was a good sports film. It dault with a lot of the issues that were evident back in the 60s, had some funny bits, and of course the usual underdogs winning the title.

Three other well-renowned, or classic, sporting films include the obvious one in Rocky, the Natural, and Chariots of Fire; they're all relatively modern, but still 20-30 years ago.
What about Bend it Like Beckham!? :p

Lagaan,Jo Jeeta Woh Sikandar

They're probably Hindi movies...??
Agreed, though, 'Gilmore and Dodgeball are class, even though the former is way too far-fetched! :)

Mike Basset England Manager is a cracking football film too; very funny!

Mean Machine is my favourtie sporting movie. Also if you are going to include Dodgeball as a sports movie then I'm also gonna give Baseketball a mention, because it's a hilarious movie.

Iqbal is a good hindi movie. It is about a deaf and dumb boy who wants to pursue his career as a cricketer. He is mad about cricket and involves everything he does with cricket. He aims to play for India one day which he eventually does do.

Dont spoil the film :D.

You never know, an indian film may have a sad ending for once.

Lagaan is cool, but you just gotta love the jokes in Bend it Like Beckham:

Indian girl to coach: You have no idea what it feels like (being called a Paki)

Coach: Of course I do, Im irish

Apart from the brilliant Naseeruddin Shah, Iqbal was towards the boring side. The biggest problem with the script was that Iqbal never ever suffers even a small setback during the course of the entire film.

I recall Escape to Victory. That was a really good film, the way it shows how football changed the attitudes of people at war. Although when Sylvester Stallone becomes goalkeeper and breaks the other goalkeeper's arm- OUCH!!
