What a great game, just what the competition needed. Awesome batting from Marsh hopefully he'll be ok for the test, he did look pretty tired at the end there. Some disappointing bowling though especially from Tait and Razzaq.

Tait was playing T20's in Zimbabwe prior to these games, probably forgot what real competition is like.

Our top 3 has recently scored near 100s in the last few games. Lookin' good. But then again so did Clarke.

Your top 4 really have to get the runs in T20 I've discovered. They are the only ones going to get a 50 thats for sure, and your openers are really the only ones gonna get a 100.
It's always important, but the key in T20 is that your top order can get their shots away. You can't afford to keep a super classy player in the shed.

In a high scoring game, you want to see strike-rates of 150+, or at least partnerships that add up to 9-10 an over; it's probably the partnerships which are more meaningful. In this game, Mitch Marsh and Ronchi didn't do a lot, but Shaun Marsh got heaps of strike and controlled the game. For the Renegades, Finch took a lot of the early strike as opposed to McDonald, but didn't do enough with it.

The really good examples are the last couple for the Renegades. Reardon's overall SR was 146.66, which is effectively 8.8 rpo in a game where both teams scored in excess of 9, but his partnership with Maxwell was worth 13 and his one with Razzaq was worth 10. First he scored 4 from 4 while Maxwell made 22 from 8; then he scored 18 from 11 while Razzaq make 27 from 17. At best, he was an equal partner, but both his partnerships were effective. Any one of your second/third tier players who can do that a lot and just generally avoid bogging up lots of dot balls, would constitute a pretty good value player.

Other than checking out the fitness of our test potentials, I really can't stay interested in the games so far. The novelty of Warne, Hayden et al. wore off pretty fast and the extra teams with guys spread across them all has split my allegiance.

Warner and Marsh's innings have been the only highlights so far and we won't be seeing them anymore. Probably a good thing since both are having back problems and the way they play T20's can't be good for their cricket lifespan if they juggle all 3 forms.

For me it's just been looking at the youngsters. Neither of the NSW sides look that great and each have players I like so I've just ended up supporting both.

Yeah guys like Maxwell and Faulkner I've been paying some attention to. I feel the retired guys and imports have taken up places that more youngsters could've used, but then they're not exactly marketable.

Sticking with both NSW teams too, but then seeing the Kat man, Jaques and whoever else playing elsewhere has me scratching my head a bit.

Jaques certainly was a strange one, Dan Christian, Faulkner and Bailey were the other ones. Also I would have gone with ACT and NT if they wanted to expand the comp.

Went again last night. Another great game. 190 was probably about par, but Etihad Stadium was too small for Shaun Marsh. The tournament has had plenty of games weighted towards batting due to the small grounds. I'd like to see some better fielding and bowling.

I must admit the Renegades performance in the field was poor. The moment I saw Finch struggling I thought it was punctured lung, he looked in quite a bit of bother. I also think the Renegades will be the wooden spooners this year, dont think they have enough class.

Very happy the Scorchers won tho, is there anything Shaun Marsh cant do? haha. I remember everyone thought I was crazy to get him into the team a few years ago, he is just as good as he was back then.

People who say this is boring are just silly, its the same as the Big Bash in the past, but with a few old stars to get bums on seats. I do believe we need to have it a bit later in the summer, and cut back on ODIs to have a bigger window for the Test players to play. I am really enjoying this, however I do think 8 teams may be a tad many, it might just start to drag on come the end, but it shouldnt be too bad.

Two awesome games in a row, well this game wasn't really awesome just Gayle :p
Don't know wtf Klinger was thinking bringing Borgas on for that over though.

Why on earth bring on a part timer to Gayle, that is asking for trouble. Floros looked alright, can't say the same for Philipson.

fearsome tweak you Gayle :p Jks apart it was a great game. Gayle the only difference
