BLIC GamerTV Preview Video

131, 134, 135, 136 kph is what I see for medium pacers and that delivery reads over 100 mph for sure. I don't mind that and don't think that is a bug as some here would term it  Forgot to add "horrible" for BLIC is used very lightly over here. ;)

Forgot to mention the dive is very well timed and the keeper even bent to pick the ball up from one bounce in front of him unlike any other games released so far.

More than happy with what I see from the videos apart from the late batsman reaction, field setup and thrid umpire in classic matches. The late batsman movement is something we may get used once we start playing quite regularly.

Pluses for me are :

1. Bowling actions are awesome and the bowler uses the crease very well.
2. In the nets the bowler went a yard ahead, that says the bowlers will bowl no balls.
3. Keeper position for collecting the ball and whipping the bails are very realistic.
4. The appeal by the bowler looks absolutely authentic as well as the expressions on the umpires face when he denied the appeal. The bowler's disappointment is not just shown in the facial express but the lip movement as well. When did we last have a bowler mouthing off or speaking a word or two in any cricket game?
5. Yet again you could see the disappointment in the batter's facial expression as well as the lip movement. How much more realistic can it get?
6. The non striker walks back into the crease the moment the ball is bowled.
7. Just before the ball is bowled the keeper is moving towards the line of the ball.
8. Have a look at the follow through of the bolwer, he is running few steps after the ball has been bowled and is getting off the pitch.
9. The background audio is excellent, the crowd reaction as well as the horns going off when the Widies batters are on to the ground is good detail.
10. The speed meter for the bowler goes away just before the ball is bowled so that is not going to annoy us when playing either.
11. There is strain on the fielder when he is throwing the ball, the leg lifts off the ground which is quite a good animation for fielders too. There is a speed meter for throwing, when did we ever have different arm strength for fielders ever in any cricket game?
12. Had we ever seen a fielder turning around and picking the ball up and then throwing. There are quite a few animations for the fielders too by the looks of it and it looks quite realistic.

Overall I am more than happy compared to any cricket games released so far. The animations are very smooth and aren't jerky as was before.

The field setups are disappointing and hope they have sorted that out. You don't often go with slips, gully and a forward short leg in one day format. Also one of the field has 7 fielders outside the circle which is fairly unreal in ODI format.

good one Ravi..definitely like the bowling, batting animations..expressions, hawkeye looks superb, crowd getting up and cheering is well done, outfields look good and I feel the fielding will add an interesting bit to overall gameply.

in one sequence do i see the bowler running off to chase the ball

on a lighter note surely there wasn't 3rd umpire when Grace used to play :D and can't help but notice the duck wearing helmet :)

EXCELLENT
This is what i have been looking for in cricket
Tha animations are realistic
Sounds are sweet
Gameplay looks good escepially in keeper catches
The graphics are good than what i saw
Classic matches are good although not required
Rating - 4.5/5
EA Sports this time will win the game

Not bad at all. This is along the lines of what I expected form codemasters. The graphics don't look that great but that's alright if the gameplay is as complete as they say it is.

One thing I was disappointed about though was the players' names. They were horribly misspelled:

  • FLINTAFF - Instead of Flintoff
  • SEHWAQ - Instead of Sehwag
  • DRUVAD - Instead of Dravid

On the plus side though, these are the things I noticed and liked:

  • I saw the Pepsi logo on the Pakistani kit which means the kits are very accurate
  • Hats!!!! Not just caps....
  • Keeper took a diving catch off of a spinner.
  • Bowler's reaction to the umpire's decision
  • Umpire shaking his head, what detail.

There was other stuff that was great too.

It looked pretty good, the only thing that worries me are the players names,

Andrew Flintoff-A.Flantiff
rahul Dravid - R.DRUVAD
Glenn McGrath- G.MACGRITH
Virender Sehwag- V.SAHWAQ

What type of game has a license but is unable to actually use it correctly. It is appaling. No-one can spell the names so bad. I Hope it gets fixed!!!

Looks great to me, the commentary is brilliant, the animations are very smooth, the graphics look good, there is authentic kits for the tournaments and the bowler's reaction to a turned down appeal is really realistic. However, I think the black and white screen in Classic Matches could get quite annoying. BTW, to anyone thinking that the wrong names is a bug, it isn't because the ICC License only covers the tournaments. Plus if you think the kits are 'way too old', then you're wrong, the kits are authentic to the tournaments. A great preview, now I'm looking forward to a demo.

I think the video was great. Those of you who are disappointed were obviously expecting too much.

I like how the batter can move around the crease until the last moment. Although the batters appear to play the shots very late I don't think it's that bad and we could probably get used to it.

I don't really care about the player names.

Can't wait till the demo.

wasnt the game officialy licensed by the ICC?
Then how come the names like
Rahul Druvad, MacGrith. ,etc.

And the video shown looked as if the game is still in its beta state.

but the detail from classic matches is excellent.
WG Grace...accurate.
classic section is good.

The names are correct for the official tournaments. Plus there IS a player editor so we can change the names ourselves.

There of course is an editor using which people can change the names of the players.

my only BIG disappointment is the quality of the video :(

at least ravi wrote it. the names are fully careless, because we should be able to edit them without problems. the most games which haven't a license add a editor. to the other hand i can agree to ravi in the most points. good eye mate...

and please buddies, before posting again something about names, read this thread. thx

for me BLIC is worth 85/100 yet.

Video looks good, graphics are decent, the only things im concerned about is the shots are played very late, and the loopiness of the deliveries.

I think it looks good, Player names are not that much of an issue, I mean Pro Evo was better than Fifa and it didn't have proper names.

Blimey, how many times does it need to be explained! It has been explained twice on the same page now, countless times in other thread's. Does it really hurt that much to search through the other thread's?
