I've seen plenty of delusional comments from both sides this series, but this one takes the cake - has this guy heard of J Bumrah?

The problem I have with Jadeja is that he will only bat well when there's nothing to lose. Like today, like the CWC 2019 semi-final. Ultimately, he will hole out whenever the team comes closer to the target.

Exactly they are numerous such occasions.

And he has holed out again.

Did one good thing though was not runout other batter in the innings.

Otherwise a perfect Jadeja innings.

As far the follow-on, would be ridiculous if India score 247 and then lose the last wicket. In all fairness, the follow-on rules need to change and should be implemented at a difference of 150 and not 200.

that is another level of harsh — India simply could not have avoided the follow-on without Jadeja's innings. If they seal the draw, which they most likely will, a lot of credit is due to him

Absolutely. I'd argue he's in the wrong role rn though - he isn't good enough with the ball anymore to be the sole spinner in the team.

Akash Deep trying to replicate Kapil Dev here. Good stuff!

Score more runs than the captain here. We have a new number 5!

Okay, credit gotta be given to him! But, again, he isnt consistent. While @ddrap14 mentions that Jadeja is in the wrong role, I disagree. His inconsistent performances are just too common and dont give me the confidence that he can bat higher or play as a pure batsman. If we need a batsman, might as well go for Jurel or Sarfaraz here.

If India seal the draw, I'd credit the rain in Brisbane. Avoiding the follow-on is tactical, but in all practicality, there's no way Australia can force a result here.

Yeah, we have exactly three bowlers, and pushing for the win on Day 5 would absolutely cook Starc. Reload for Melb.

On Jadeja - you can't drop an entire team. I full agree that his career is winding down, but the Indian team has more important issues - who are the long term bats not named Jaiswal? Who can support Bumrah beyond Siraj? Does another elite AR exist? - to solve before then.

(I can't answer the last two, but while India can't throw out the baby with the bath water, Sai Sudharsan and Sarfaraz Khan deserve more of a shot, and maybe Ruturaj Gaikwad/Devdutt Padikkal if they fail or other spaces (looking at that of Gill) become available
