Brett lee said in a recent interview that he is fit and would return to the test squad for the Ashes. But there was one more interesting thing binga said. He said that he will bowl faster than he has ever bowled in the ashes as he believe that his muscles are more strong and agile than before. Well cricket has seen great fast bowlers speed decreasing with age, if binga does what he believe he can than this would probably the first time a fast bowler of early thirty bowling at 160kmph.

I believe Fast bowlers like Lee, Akhtar, Freddie,Tait, Mitch should be used in short 4 or 5 over bursts of genuine fast bowling. If you try to use them as a workhorse then they wont be so successful and may get injured. Look at what England has done with Freddie. He is so dangerous in short spells but they are using him as a workhorse. England cant risque Freddie another injury.

Personally, i wish binga to be fit and bowl at 160 Kmph, as there isn't a better sight in cricket than a contest between world's top batsman and a champion genuine fast bowler.

So, Straussy and co is facing the Binga Ginga this Ashes? :p Anyway, I really want the old Binga back. The Ashes can be the perfect platform for him to regain the no 1 spot again.

Nah, highly doubt he is bowling/will bowl 160kph ever again. 150, in a Twenty20 or ODI he might crack 155. Last time he returned from injury, he was very successful, lets hope he can continue that trend.

He's working incredibly hard right now. A lot of cardio and strength training. He'll come back with a lot of fire to maintain his spot and show the world he's still the best. I wouldn't rule out impossible.

He may comeback good and save the ashes, but regarding 160 kmph, that's isn't possible in my opinion. Somewhere near 150-155 kmph should be probable.

He says he's been working hard in the gym etc trying to do the weights. But have you guys seen him lately? His shoulders are still small. Probably needs to do more back too.

Bigger than yours will ever be. Not everyone has to look like Andrew Symonds to be strong.

How can you assume something you've never seen? Symonds ain't that big, even Ronnie Coleman is bigger.

Actually, I can back up Gilly Fan. I've seen Symonds around Macquarie University. He's gigantic and so well built for a Cricketer. And I've basically breathed in front of the NSW Blues faces, they look like nothing compared to him.

No. and also i don't regard the "Age factor" here, Brett Lee always have been my favorite, has a genuine action, terrific yorker delivers and variation in speed with bouncers, that's what we expect a fast bowler to be.

If that ever happens that will be the very last time in world cricket at least from the best bowling action bowler LEE :hpraise

Brett Lee doesn't deserve a spot in the Australian test team at the moment. It's that simple, and if he gets in the team it is purely out of loyalty, rather than fairness. Siddle, Johnson and Hilfenhaus have shown enough to be ahead of Lee, and Stuart Clark should get that fourth pace bowler's role because he's got a brain and is playing county cricket rather than IPL to get his match fitness back. And he's a better bowler.

Aside from being a stepping stone to his post-cricket career, I suspect that the IPL will also play a role in the last stage of Lee's recovery plans. If he jumps straight back into bowling lots of overs, he runs a higher risk of injury than if he bowls 4 overs a match for a month or so. I'm thinking of it as a more effective, more lucrative version of the net session.

Lee will get named to the touring squad. The key question will be whether there's enough (any) tour games for Lee to prove he's ready for the XI. Two or three solid innings would probably be enough for the selectors, given the extent of his past experience.

If he shows he's fairly fit, probably Hilfenhaus will miss out. Hilfenhaus bowled well, but his figures were terrible, and when the selectors start saying "we've got to pick our best 4 bowlers", it sounds to me like they're giving up the commitment to variety that would've kept Hilfenhaus in.
