Buying Don Bradman Cricket 14 in Asia

If you see price pattern of games at flipkart you will see most pc games priced between rs 999 and 2499, no way it could be 4000 inr for pc. And as ac 13 is already at 1499 dbc 14 will be priced above it thats why i said rs 1999. I am just saying how retailers may work out the price.

My god! 88$ nears 10k here in pakistan! that is above my limits! i hope the price is less than 5k when the release date is announced.

Average PS3 game is about Rs. 3000 to 4000 & the retailers in Karachi do not go beyond the Rs. 6500 mark, even if its cricket, which is of very high demand. I remember I got IC'10 for Rs. 5000 few days after it came out. My brother got Last of Us for 6500 the day it came out, as it was in very very high demand. People had placed pre-orders at different retails. What ever the price is set in Karachi will settle the price for entire Pakistan. BUT ... keep your fingers crossed.

I think Ross has already said that it will cost as much as AAA titles cost in each country. My guess would be Rs. 2499 for PC and 3499 for XBOX and PS3.

That would still be ~$40 which is much cheaper than what they plan on selling it for in Australia and UK. So Ross' concern of the game being re-imported in their "profitable" countries is valid. I just hope this does not mean a delayed release in India.

Sorry for off topic post but what will GTA V cost there?

Dbc'14 might not get released in bd! .

I live in bd (Bangladesh) too..
If it doesn't get released here maybe we'll have to rely on online shipments. Ebay won't work, and as for payment options paypal's not supported here too..
What was I thinking all these days?!
Ross, Any light on this?

Edit: Asking it here Ross, 'cause it's not related to the 'date' of release.

When Ashes 2009 got released, I was in Germany and there was no copies available there. Luckily, there was a Indian reseller who shipped the game to me at Indian price + shipping. However, this took ages to arrive and I bought a digital copy from an online game store (sorry don't remember the name).

So what Ross is thinking is correct, setting the price point too low in India will eat sales elsewhere. IMHO, the game should be priced at 2500/- max but if it is anything higher, even then I am buying it.

Whatever be the case, please do not have a delayed release here in India. I am well to do but I can't afford to import the game from another country, especially now that the stupid rupee value is sinking like titanic :(

ross! i want this answer too! and i hope this game doesn't exceed our budget. i will buy it surely if it don't cost more than 1000 taka. that means 15$

Agreed. It's why I asked here if anyone had any answers other than digital.

The risk to the "home" markets is way too high to support a low-price Indian model at this point, either that, or the release is delayed into India - Does anyone have any other way of getting around it?

btw Sony's Indian PSN store is quite difficult to purchase from if you are OS, everywhere else is pretty simple, obviously this is to stop markets outside India purchasing on the cheaper store. I had a hell of a time purchasing Street Cricket!

From personal experience I can say that it is when games are priced above 1k for PC that people start to pirate here. I'm not asking for a lower price, but I can tell you that it will get pirated on a massive scale if it is priced a little high.

I hope your game doesn't get cracked, there are literally shops here that sell pirated CDs with the game and crack for Rs. 70 each
The problem is that pirated games are too easily accessible here, I have many friends who have tens of games and they haven't got a single legit game.

It's going to cost more than $15 guys... Zeus' corpse people...

lol.ne ways I think if it releases there the price will be same as a regular game price in bd.ne wayz nothing has been fixed and they don't fix the prices.for more information read the thread buying dbc in india.

I have to import the game from somewhere as I live in Hong Kong :p

Talking of ppl elsewhere buying this game from India, the falling Rupee would increase the concern that Ross has. A ?3500 game (standard console price) which equaled almost $63 a couple months back would now equal $50. And its going to get worse than this in the coming months. Looks like tough times ahead for not just BAS but many other game devs/publishers.

In India, you need to keep the price very reasonable this time around for the first installment of the game, and create a BRAND value for DB cricket 14.
I am sure once you create the brand image, for the next installment, i.e. DB cricket 15;), you can generate more profit with a higher price.:yes
