Isn't there a restriction of trade law against the cooling off period? Retiring means freeing yourself from the influence of BCCI, they shouldn't be able to influence the cricket you play post-retirement. I guess a players association like Aus or Eng would help with that.

It’s thoroughly illegal as I’ve already cried about. No one’s going to challenge the BCCI openly about it at the moment given that they’d be ostracised for life.
