Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

Phil you're such a queer I knew Keane would score the moment you put that sig in. Dissapointed about Scholesy, especially with Carrick out too for another month.

Anyway I hate having chelsea and Liverpool on the same night. I have been watching Athletico tonight, Aguero is class, can see him at one of the really big clubs after this season. Or he could be a money grabber and go to city. Barca not going well tonight either, in fact turning on seems like they're playing terribly.

Have to say this years competition is lacking because of Milans absence. As good as it is it would be nice to see another of the massive (:D) clubs in and too see Ronaldhino and Kaka would be good.

From the BBC Sport live commentary page:

2116: The cheeky DJ at Cluj played 'Glory Glory Man United' before the teams arrived on the pitch. Further needle comes from the home fans, who unfurl a banner saying: "Roses are red, Chelsea are blue, my grandma can take spot-kicks better than you."

Thats utter class:D Apparently showed the final pens as well.:D

Nah, completely serious Phil matee. 1 goal in 10 appearances in a team with the likes of Riera, Alonso, Gerrard and Kuyt providing him with chances is dynamite form. Bet Rafa's pleased with another dynamite signing. Can add him to the list alongside Crouch, Pennant, Josemi, Nunez, Kromkamp, Voronin, Paletta, Gonzalez, Zenden, Pellegrino and Morientes. Benitez is a transfer market god.

What was wrong with Crouch :P

Do you honestly want a list ? Here goes:

He's a lanky freak
For a big lad he's rubbish in the air
He's somehow managed to pull the stunning Abbie Clancy even looking like a stick insect
Played for Liverpool
The Robot dance.

He's got good touch for a big fella though :p Had to be said tbh. Seriously though, Crouch is the best of that list, although that's not difficult, he's not a terrible player, just not good enough for Liverpool and a title challenge.

It's just that you listed the bad players innit, if I said like well Fergie signed Kleberson, Bellion, Jordi Cruyff and Tim Howard without listing Ronaldo etc. he would look like a bit of a joke wouldn't he lol.

Thing is though, he's only signed one player I'd describe as world class (Torres). Some of the others may be very good (Alonso and Mascherano spring to mind) but not world class. Compare that with Ferie.

lol stupid post.

Anyway Rooneys not badly injured :D :D :D So lets hope him, Carrick and Scholes get on the mend quick and given how much easier our run in the second half of the season is just keepin touch with the top teams and we're all good. Good comeback by Barca last night, sadly I missed it for a ridiculously confusing episode of heroes.
