Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

Coulda been 8-0 lol. Porto's defence was ridiculous and so was our finishing after going 3 up. We missed 4 real sitters after that.

Berbatov's first goal has got to be the most riduclous gift I've ever seen. Madrid were very lucky against St.Petersburg.

Aye, not good at all. Knee ligament is very bad, and for a player of his age, even worse.

Eindhovenn!! Again tonight third time in 2 years, Mascha is back, but with the way Gerrard and Alonso played Saturday i'm not sure where he'll fit in, unless Gerrard goes right of a 4-4-2. Keane also secured his place with major parts in both goals saturday, but do you drop Kuyt, the champions league specialist?

Ideally:
Pepe
Arby Carra Agger Aurelio
Mascha Alonso
Stevie Laaaaa
Keane Albert
Torres

That would accommodate them all, but Keane might struggle even more on and Albert hasn't played in a 4-2-3-1 as of yet. Aurelio definitely needs to come back in, he's been quality this season.

Drewska added 1 Minutes and 4 Seconds later...

What happened to the alignment? And no Gerrard and Laaa aren't seperate players :D

How can you drop Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtel?

And Madrid might have been lucky in the second half, but were by far the better team in the first. You need to be lucky in such kind of "away" games. Top of the table now with 2 wins.

You can drop Skrtel because Agger's far better. I'm not sure why you rate Skrtel so highly, he's really not that good. He's a dirty ******* as well, the amount of times he was seen on camera pulling an Everton players shirt in the box for corners and the fouls he made in the merseyside derby. Agger's a far better defender.

Rooney's injured again. He's going nowhere. It's stupid. Hopefully he's just got a bruised ankle or something but with his luck it'll have been ripped to shreds. Oh well at least Berbatov has got going, and lol @ the welcome to hell flag from the Aalborg fans. All good in the hood so far.

Lol yeah saw that, it was hardly Galatasary was it?;) Still to be fair to them, they sounded decent. Their club crest is quality.:D

EDIT: Ginger prince out for 10 weeks.:(
Tyldesley was tight last night, "he's walking a little gingerly":D.

KEEEEAAAAANNNNNEEEEE off the mark you little beauty

2-0 at half time cruising really, as soon as we got the early goal we relaxed and played some pretty free flowing football another half like that please

Nah, completely serious Phil matee. 1 goal in 10 appearances in a team with the likes of Riera, Alonso, Gerrard and Kuyt providing him with chances is dynamite form. Bet Rafa's pleased with another dynamite signing. Can add him to the list alongside Crouch, Pennant, Josemi, Nunez, Kromkamp, Voronin, Paletta, Gonzalez, Zenden, Pellegrino and Morientes. Benitez is a transfer market god.

:D I think you're being a little unfair to him there, he also masterminded the transfers of Morientes and Fowler, who worked wonders.

Think you missed the edit there Phil, I remembered a few more names after originally posting :D. Rafa's a real sharp one in the transfer market isn't he. Makes Dennis Wise look like Fergie.

Good work, glad to see you fully credited him. He should be praised for his excellent dealings more often.:D
