Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

Not if they beat themselves through an own-goal, Colin:p.

I would say that the team that wins the last game, generally wins the competition though.

We would. We can beat them, and I'd have no doubts we would do, spurred on infact by yesterday.

So true! If we get Liverpool, the boys will be so fired up for an early chance at revenge, otherwise they'd have to wait until next season before they can get their hands on Liverpool.

Liverpool didn't beat Madrid because they were that good, Madrid are just poor. Not to take anything away from Liverpool's brilliant performance but Madrid just happen to be a poor team.

Yeps. Madrid have become a joke.

Also none of those teams except one has won it on nine occasions.

Uh huh, enjoy those past glories because I think it'll be a very, very, very long time before you win it again. :D

Not as long as you have to wait to win your next one though (if at all you win one).
Not really that much of a clever statement that, seeing as how we have a far superior team than you. I'd go as far as saying Arsenal are better than you, and they're struggling to get 4th.

Hello? We're still in the tournament! A couple of dodgy games doesn't mean we no longer have a chance of winning. Last time I looked, we were joint favourites with Barcelona. That was a really awful comeback!

It was pretty dumb, wasn't it? I'd even go so far as to say that many Premier League teams could give this Real team a good game.

Well, Arsenal do have a 100% record in both competitive and friendly fixtures betwen the two.

Villarreal v Arsenal
Manchester United v FC Porto
Liverpool v Chelsea
Barcelona v Bayern Munich

Nice draw for United fans again and Its Liverpool and Chelsea :happy

Manchester United/FC Porto v Villarreal/Arsenal
Barcelona/Bayern Munich v Liverpool/Chelsea

Great draw for us.

When Rick Parry was being interviewed, I didn't know which one was the Scouser.

What a surprise. Liverpool vs Chelsea......

A round earlier this time though. Arsenal and Manchester United have the easier match-ups and I would be pretty surprised if they didn't make through to the semi-finals.
