Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

LYON V APOEL
NAPOLI V CHELSEA
AC MILAN v ARSENAL
BASEL v BAYERN MUNICH
BAYER LEVERKUSEN v BARCELONA
CSKA MOSCOW v REAL MADRID
ZENIT ST PETERSBURG v BENFICA
MARSEILLE v INTER MILAN

People taking about a tough draw for Arsenal/Chelsea but you can't expect an easy game in the CL knockout stage.

In your dreams.

However, expecting Chelsea to go through. I believe they have too much for Napoli.

A close victory is the best preference.

Well away games in Russia are always going to be difficult, regardless of the opposition. Having said that I thought Inter beat CSKA quite easily in the group stage, so we should be aiming for all three points.

Points?

And CSKA will definetly be a tough opposition.

And poor Barca facing Basel.

Like Wayne Bridge's classic after the F.A Cup Final.

"We're just really glad to get the 3 points!"

Err, Wayne, you're holding a bleedin' giant trophy and you're at Wembley. Easy to see why his missus moved onto the intellectually blessed John Terry.

Bit of a weird one, that. I'm not too sure what's going on there, but apparently not being in the CL could cost us ?20m, so it would be better to be reinstated. It's not really fair on Basle, since they haven't done anything wrong - but I guess that's Fifa's way to get the Swiss FA to punish the other Swiss team. I can't even remember what it was all about in the first place to be honest.

Utd were awful and don't deserve to be in the competition at all. And Basle have done nothing wrong. Would be ridiculous if it happened.
