Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

I was referring to this crop of players, the Robben's and the Ribery's... the monkey's certainly off their back now.

Although sad to see Dortmund lose, still think Bayern deserved it, after those seasons of pain and nice to see Robben carrying them, after last season's poor show.

Yeah - both Manchester clubs shouldn't have too many problems with those groups, although you guys have got massive opposition in the shape of Bayern. Chelsea should be OK as well; not sure about Arsenal though. Still, at least they're not in Celtic's position: bloody hell!

Oh well,we are not winning the UCL again :(.

I'm personally glad we finally got a challenging group, no complacency this time around hopefully after years of easy groups. It's why we've been trounced in the last two seasons in the first leg whenever we play a decent team finally.

We've had some amazing performances in the last few years against Barca, Milan and Bayern, no reason we can't get through this one.

Chelsea lost but TBH Cech made some brilliant save MOTM for me.Both the teams performed well.Lukaku tried to become Drogba but the truth is not everyone is Drogba

That was such a bad penalty.
Chelski very unlucky but if you're going to choose a game to lose on pens you make sure it's this not the CL final.

That challenge from Ramires merited a red all day long. Not sure how you can call Chelsea unlucky - were second best for pretty much the entire game.

Mightily impressed with Schurrle though. Looks a fine buy to me.

EDIT: Thoughts on the draws - Celtic are going to hell; Arsenal will have to play out of their skins to progress from their group; United's group definitely isn't an easy one and looks tricky rather; Chelsea and City though have fairly easy groups and should be progressing without much fuss.

It seems like Manchester United will proceed to next round with full points in group stages.

Group E: Chelsea, Schalke, Basel, Steaua Bucharest

Please don't disappoint me this season.
