Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

I am supporting Britain. I would love it if Arsenal, Celtic, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd all got through.

I think Arsenal will lose to AC Milan. They couldn't even beat Sevilla.
you must be joking man...they were only playing like 2 regulars...anyways AC are doin crap in their league compared to us...i think it will be a tight contest but Arsenal will come out on top...

yeah they are...thats why they won UEFA cup 2 years in a row...and we beat them at home...3-0 i think it was...we had all our players than...apart from van.p i think...and away we just played 2-3...and still we managed to score first...our defence was our real weakness that day with the likes of traore and hoyte who don't have much experience...

Frédéric Kanouté is just the best!

Watch this space.

You really do have a very mediocre taste in footballers dont you Usy. Firstly Ribery and Zlatan, now Kanoute. All decent enough, but very mediocre players compared with the likes of Kaka, Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney etc. I dont think Sevilla are anything without Juande Ramos though, is a big loss for them losing a quality coach.

9 goals a season is not just lazy.

I was also gonne say, Inzaghi is very good too.

But did he do it in the Premiership? Not very much.

If he was such a brilliant player i'm sure Spurs wouldn't have offloaded him and i'm sure the Premiership's big clubs would be sniffing around him. But no, because he's yet another one of those players who just couldn't hack it in the Premiership; The best league in the world.

If past seasons are anything to go by, then the AC Milan in Europe is completely different from the one playing in Serie-A. I think the Italians will get the job done.

I can understand about Kanoute, but calling Ribery and Zlatan mediocre is just foolish. Have you even seen Zlatan playing for Inter for the past two seasons?? He has been nothing short of spectacular and definately at par with Kaka, Ronaldo and Messi. (and better than Rooney)

And to be fair to Kanoute as well, he has been doing more than what is expected of him. Maybe he dint do well in England because his clubs were just useless.

Sevilla seem to be doing ok without Juande Ramos, although I do agree that he played a massive part in the last few successful campaigns in Europe.

At par with Kaka and Ronaldo, lol, that's not even worth discussing tbh. Kaka and Ronaldo are leagues and leagues above Zlatan. He's a talented player, but to say he's been on par with those two is laughable. Ronaldo is imo the perfect player atm, scores goals, is entertaining, has a mean free-kick, good in the air, strong, and also crosses like a god. There's no way on god's earth that Zlatan Ibrahimovich can be compared to Kaka and Ronaldo on current form. I don't watch much Serie A football, as most of it's incredibly dull, defensive football, but i'm sure that Zlatan would have been in the top 3 nominations if he was on par with Kaka, Ronaldo and Messi.
