Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

ufff... that was some game. so its official now, the finals is b/w man utd [the reds] and chelsea [the blues!! :D] next day of the finals, the papers will say "the reds beat the blues".. either way its going to be one hell of a game :happy

Thought Chelsea deserved if for the way they played in extra time. They were dire in the second half but got it together after normal time.

Chelsea for the CL. If Utd do the double, I'll never live it down.

I knew it! babel dives! He did it again straight after Lampard's pen (he wa greaqt tonight) bu he didn't get the decision this time. Essien's goal was rightly disallowed. The other two weren't involved in the play but Drogba was clearly obstructing Reina's view. However, if Liverpool had won, you bet you arse I'd be calling it a bvad decision.

I don't care if Ronaldo pops up with the odd goal. He is never the best player in your team when you're playing big games. That is why I believe Rooney is better (not on form but on skill). He does it against everyone and even raises his game against the best.

I just couldn't stand Liverpool winning the CL for 2 reasons:

1) They knocked Arsenal out
2) They base their season on the CL

Arsenal for the PL.

One question, for how long will Pool put up with Reina? He is simply not up to standard.

To your first point, aren't you an Arsenal fan, living in London, Chelsea are your second biggest rivals.

And to the second point, I showed it wasn't just the odd goal, add 2 against Roma at home last season as well as one against Milan.

It's the lesser of two evils. Imagine you supported Arsenal and Utd won the PL and CL. Would you rather have Utd supporters hailing from London (!) bragging about this for ages and bringing up the treble of 99 or have Chelsea win the CL which they were eventually going to win?

I know he scores but my point is that he doesn't shine in big matches.

yh go CHELSEA...lol...but than we will be the only top 4 team that hasn't won the CL until now...but thats gna be over next season...lol...

I think Utd will go on to win the league now and will be so up for the final (with the added bonus of wanting to get even with Chelsea) that we'll win, but it'll only be by the odd goal

Chelsea, because they are the rivals. Its like if I had the choice of Arsenal winning the PL and CL or Liverpool winning the CL, I'd go for Arsenal winning the double every single time if we didn't win the league.

I can see why you'd think your second point, but he's generally asked to play a different role, where he's not at his best. He was immense when he played on the right in a very big game against Roma last year.

Good result now we've got Chelsea in the final, well they couldn't have us and the scousers tearing up Moscow anyway so provided Sir Alex doesn't make any comments about Drogba and Abramovic doesn't slip a horses head in sir alexs bed I'm confident we can beat them if everyone is fit.

You dont need the confidence mate, the more confident you are of winning the more upset you get when you lose. ;)

Well I just couldnt stop shouting "Moscow" last night at the local pub.

Anyways United v Chelsea it is - and this time I am really confident of winning our first ever Champions League!! Besides playing in Moscow is like playing at home for us. All those "Chelski" and "Chelskovski" taunts could now come back to haunt you guys!!

P.S - I dedicate this glorious result to Mrs.PAT!!

so its united vs chelski in russia! i wouldnt fancy is if i was united, may be a chance of a bribe or two with the ref when they get to moscow lol
