Not really. Most of the cricketers that have been warned a few times have been suspended.

Fine, prove it. Show me an example of someone doing exactly the same as Broad has done and getting banned for it.

I'm probably the only one here who thinks this but, I don't think Broad deserves a ban at all. I could quite easily have thrown a ball at a few batsmen I have bowled to this season or last season. Haider seems like a bit of a mouthy guy anyway, so he got what he had coming to him. I enjoyed seeing Broad get angry, always adds a little extra to what can be a boring segment in play.

LOL. You don't actually believe that do you?

Thats what it looks like to me. There was no real attempt at any apology. If he was really sorry and apologetic he would have made it a bit obvious like Jones to Hayden. Not just turn his back and run.

I don't know whos done what and I'm sure as hell not going to look it up but as far as I know the rules say that if you get warned or fined twice the third time you get banned.

Yea because Haiders track record shows that he is a mouthy guy, especially in international cricket. On the other hand Broads record does speak for it self.
He picked up the ball and threw it flush straight at the batsman. If he wanted to miss he sure as hell would have but he didn't.

But on the last page, you said that most players with similar records to Broad get banned, all I want to know is the proof behind your statement.

Haider came down the wicket, Broad is allowed to throw the ball at the stumps when he does that. Yes he missed and maybe he was aiming at the batsman, but he is allowed to throw the ball.

Last two that come to mind are Gambhir and Benn in Australia.

He is allowed to throw the ball but straight at the batsman's chest? This dude is a bowler who can hit his target within inches while running and he misses the target by that much when he is standing still from even close since "Haider cam down the wicket"?

I am basing this on his one innings, and you can't tell me that it didn't look like he enjoyed a bit of sledging. One of the guys on the highlights show likened him to Dominic Cork, who is probably one guy who I would like to chuck a ball at if I was bowling to him.

Where's the fun in throwing the ball at the stumps and not hitting the batsman? :p It certainly has given the viewers something to talk about, which is, at the end of the day, what sport is all about.

Didn't Benn get banned for squaring up to Johnson and Haddin or something? If we were questioning why the other two didn't get the same as Benn for that, then I'd agree with you, but their Fathers aren't match Referees, so I guess the conspiracy theory doesn't work for that?

I must admit, I have no idea what Gambhir got banned or whatever for, so feel free to fill me in on that.

It happens though. If Haider is going to leave his crease and stand in the way of his stumps, then he should expect the ball to come his way. Yes, maybe not at chest height, but mistakes happen.

He had the entire England team on him because for some reason a kid making his debut and scoring 80+ frustrated them. Strauss, Broad, Anderson all cam after him and all got sent back. If a batsman frustrates you bowl a bouncer at him, or a couple but I do realize that Broad cant do that so he resorts to throwing the ball at the batsman with the intent to hit him.

In cricket you have the rule where you can bowl two bouncers per over at the batsman, thats what is used to get at the batsman that frustrate you. At least West Indies fast bowlers did that. Only pussies and girls throw the ball at someone.

Nop but they are from the top cricket boards, immediate protection.

For his run in with Watson. Funny because Watson later got in trouble for getting in Gayles face after getting him out but he got of with no suspension.

Glossing it over. Hardly a mistake, he meant to do it and he did it. He realized it so he turned around straight away and ran off.

I'd like to see you go up to Broad personally and call him a pussy. There isn't much difference between Haider getting hit by Broad's throw or Farhat getting hit in the head by his bouncer. Both actions ultimately have the intent to harm. Nobody bowls a bouncer hoping not to hit the batsman or get him out.

Ah, the real issue.

By the way, I agree on some of those things you've mentioned, but expecting Broad to get banned for a non-event to even the scores or something, is crazy.

Got his home address? When I go to England Ill make sure I stop by.

The bouncer is a ball which is meant for that exact reason, to hit someone and throw them of their game. Throwing a ball at someone after the ball has been bowled and hitting them is just weak and not really sportsman like.

What good call? Broad is a bowler and if anyone can throw the ball hard enough to hurt someone its a bowler.

You obviously didn't read the quote properly :sarcasm

Even more importantly, there's no difference between what Broad did to Haider, and what Asif did to Collingwood. Yet I don't see calls for a ban for Asif.

I expect him to get banned for his consecutive string of offenses not just for this incident. This is just one thing out of many that he has done in the past few years. If this was his first offense then I would not want a ban but maybe a word with the match official but since its his 5-6 offense I would like a ban so he learns his place.

What track record does Asif have? Other then his personal issues for which he served his time.

Testing positive for performance enhancing drugs twice, whether he served his time or not is far worse than anything Broad has done. Broad's misdemeanors have been due to petulance and immaturity; Asif's down to being a cheating moron. Don't get why what he did in this game, which was almost identical to what Broad did has been completely ignored.
