Story Civic Gardens (BT)

Good showing thus far for a newcomer! Like everyone said the wins will come ive been waiting a long time and after all the waiting ive produced a 98000 rating player

Civic Gardens completed their participation in the BT20 in disappointing fashion on Tuesday, with defeat to Bowlingmushy.

Bowlingmushy innings: 192/3 (Haines 69 not out)
Civic Gardens innings: 121 all out (Moyo 50, Christo 3/17)

Bowlingmushy won by 71 runs

Their number three, Julian Haines, scored 69 not out off just 37 balls, so my bowlers failed to contain the batsmen.

After two consecutive victories, this was very disappointing, but it was a good tournament overall for me. I finished in 5th place out of 8.

CIVIC GARDENS DESTROYED IN SEASON OPENER

Civic Gardens got the new season off to a terrible start on Sunday as they crashed out of the 1 Day Cup at the first attempt with a thrashing from BingBang.

BingBang innings: 288/4 (Forward 107, Gordon 79, Patterson 71)
Civic Gardens innings: 24 all out (Piper 6/12, Cox 4/9)

BingBang won by 264 runs

BingBang captain Liam Forward pummeled the bowlers as he raced to 107 off 140 balls, while opener Doug Gordon hit a run-a-ball 79 and wicketkeeper Neale Patterson made a similarly run-a-ball 71.

They needed only two bowlers to roll over Civic Gardens. Not a single batsman got into double figures. In fact, the top score in the innings was 5, shared between Curtis Moyo and Kenny Hunt.

A bigger task await the players, however, with their introduction to the 3 Day League today. They kick off division 5.62 with a home match against the Cover Drivers.

Bad loss. Though this team is probably a great side where you are still trying to find your feet in Battrick.

Ya tough luck in cup game.. Hopefully, some promising displays come up in upcoming games. Good luck

CIVIC GARDENS THRASHED IN 3 DAY LEAGUE

Civic Gardens were thrashed again yesterday, this time in their opening match of the 3 Day League.

Cover Drivers 1st innings: 261 all out (Packer 97, Farrell 87, Wilmers 5/50)
Civic Gardens 1st innings: 67 all out (Riaan 5/11, Govender 4/16)
Civic Gardens 2nd innings: 67 all out (Packer 4/5, Riaan 4/18)

Cover Drivers won by an innings and 127 runs

In three innings now, Civic Gardens have failed to reach 100. Their batting is worrying ahead of the 1 Day League and PlanetCricket Shield.

Looking forward to playing you in PC shield.

Ouch! Must of been a good side you played against. I would be looking for some new batting talent if I was you.

CIVIC GARDENS PUT TO THE SWORD AGAIN

Civic Gardens continued their awful start to the season with defeat to The Mighty Tor at the Mile Cross Oval.

The Mighty Tor innings: 340/4 (Bolla 84 not out, Griffiths 83, Borrell 62, Siyabonga 58)
Civic Gardens innings: 146 all out (Lucas 47, Mchale 4/21)

The Mighty Tor won by 194 runs

Oh dear.

Don't worry.. keep the confidence/trust on your players high.. they will do it for you.. Good luck for next game.

IT'S A NEW SEASON WITH CIVIC GARDENS

Despite their poor start to the season, coach Lee Payne is confident that Civic Gardens can turn it around and begin to climb the tables of the 3 Day League, the 1 Day League and the BT20.

"The players showed last season that they can cut it at this level. We won promotion in the 1 Day League last year and narrowly missed out on the BT20 finals," he said.
