Playing against the Falcons

End of Over 46: 226-4, runrate=4.91
Hitchman 8-0-53-0
Nicholls* 113 (129 balls)
Spiller 14 (13 balls)

You can guess what happens next....

46.6 W Mahmood to Barnard
A bullet-like throw from Hitchman to Shahbaz, who flicks off the bails in a flash, has left Barnard millimetres from safety. Barnard out!
46.5 W Mahmood to Spiller
Spiller can't believe it, and even Mahmood only managed half hearted appeal. But he's out to a ball certain to go down the leg side.

47.6 W Hitchman to Samuel
Wicket ball. That's through the defences and Hitchman has his man.

48.6 W Mahmood to Backley
Backley has tried to slog that one but Hitchman is getting under it. OUT! Backley caught in the deep by Hitchman.
48.5 W Mahmood to Kelly
A massive edge and it's caught behind by Shahbaz!

End of Over 50: 246-9, runrate=4.92
Hitchman 10-0-66-1
Nicholls* 129 (142 balls)
Bird 0 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Backley c. Hitchman b. Mahmood 0 (FOW: 235/9)

Pretty happy with that, probably needed another 20 or so runs, but it's a green pitch and my seemers are on fire! Hopefully it will be close at least.

End of Over 10: 34-9, runrate=3.40, reqrunrate=5.33 (246-9)
Backley 5-0-16-3
Habibullah* 20 (21 balls)
Mahmood 4 (2 balls)
Last Wicket: Tauqiruddin lbw b. Backley 0 (FOW: 30/9)

Just amazed at the moment, just need a wicket to win the match!

Not bad Justin :p

End of Over 20: 75-3, runrate=3.75
Dodd 5-0-17-1
Kampa* 24 (40 balls)
Blissett 8 (12 balls)

Looking ok for me at the moment, but his batting's pretty deep, I only have 2 decent bowlers (sold Alder) and as soon as Dodd comes off I think things will fall apart.

Bad luck, Tom.. but it would have been a good low scoring thriller. Better luck next time :thumbs

Whitehouse 6/41 :D

That guy was the one who costed me the match. :p

And in my second consecutive match against Blanco Blitzers,

We can tell you that Blanco Blitzers won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking like a road. As flat as a pancake. No help for the bowlers on this sunny day.

I expected this one.. but defending a score in flat track is going to be a challenging one.

So far,

End of Over 33: 172-2, runrate=5.21
Marsh 10-0-53-1
Malik* 28 (37 balls)
Paki 57 (65 balls)
Last Wicket: Singh c. Faulkner b. Marsh 52 (FOW: 105/2)

Good start by HT.. but last 10 overs will decide the match. Lets see how it turns out to be with inform skip yet to come. :upray

At the end of 40 overs,

End of Over 40: 210-2, runrate=5.25
Ferguson 10-0-41-1
Paki* 76 (93 balls)
Malik 44 (51 balls)
Last Wicket: Singh c. Faulkner b. Marsh 52 (FOW: 105/2)

Going good till now.. And this over added more to the score,

Code:
40.5 [COLOR="Red"][B]6[/B][/COLOR]	Pearce to Malik
He's nonchalantly hit that down the ground for six runs... effortless.
And that's his fifty! Well played.
40.4 1	Pearce to Paki
Turned off his pads to square leg.
40.3 1	Pearce to Malik
Nice timing but straight to the fielder. The batsmen manage to scamper through for one though.
40.2 [COLOR="Red"][B]4	[/B][/COLOR]Pearce to Malik
Shot! What a shot indeed. Any keen youngsters out there could do an awful lot worse than study that particular stroke.
40.1 1	Pearce to Paki
Outside off stump, and nearly spooned to cover. No real need to play at that delivery.

So at the end of 41 overs,
End of Over 41: 223-2, runrate=5.44
Pearce 6-0-39-0
Paki* 78 (95 balls)
Malik 55 (55 balls)
Last Wicket: Singh c. Faulkner b. Marsh 52 (FOW: 105/2)

And this is interesting too,
Code:
41.2 [COLOR="Red"][B]6[/B][/COLOR]	Faulkner to Paki
Basil Brush would have been proud of that one. Boom boomed back over Faulkners head. Six runs!!!!!
41.1 [COLOR="Red"][B]4[/B][/COLOR]	Faulkner to Paki
What a shot. Picked up from a yorker length and just swept over fine leg.

Com'on boys! :happy

A wonderful century from Paki,
43.4 1 Faulkner to Paki
Played out to the backward point region. Kiely fields.
And that's a century for Paki! Well played indeed Sir!

Scorecard at the moment,
End of Over 44: 256-2, runrate=5.82
Faulkner 10-0-71-0
Paki* 101 (106 balls)
Malik 65 (62 balls)
Last Wicket: Singh c. Faulkner b. Marsh 52 (FOW: 105/2)

I knew that Ludlam coming back on was likely to stop them getting too much further, but I was still impressed with this:

45.6 . Ludlam to Fahadulluh
On the back foot, pushed to the ground, cover quick to field the ball.
45.5 W Ludlam to Mohit
That is pretty conclusive! Through the gate and Mohit's got the death rattle ringing in his ears as he makes his way back to the pavilion.
45.4 . Ludlam to Mohit
Ludlam was unlucky there! Mohit was clearly beaten by both the pace and the bounce.
45.3 W Ludlam to Dulay m
An inswinger deceives Dulay m all ends up and rips out his middle stump.
45.2 W Ludlam to Hooper
Hooked off his nose. That should have gone all the way, but a brilliant one-handed dive in the outfield sent him on his way!
45.1 W Ludlam to Blissett
Blissett flashes at it, sending the ball flying straight to third slip. Good reflex catch by Gilroy.

Then Dlomo gets in on the act:

46.1 W Dlomo to Sishayi
Bowlers live for moments like this. With a satisfying 'bink', the middle stump has been knocked clean out of the ground.

i just played my first game as Grappenhall in Trinidad and Tobago against a team called krules. I replaced a team that was in the relagation zones of both first class and one day leagues against the team that was 1 point above me.

Anyway Krules won the toss at my ground and batted first on a flat deck. they were going bad at about 137-9 after 25 overs before being bowled out for 160 with mostof my bowlers claiming at least two wickets.

In my inning my two openers put on 113 before Danny Cornelis went for 46. MOM was Martyn Tannis with and unbeaten 80 off 58 balls.

krules won the toss and elected to bat.

looks good for flat pitch...

Yes, but all of a sudden, things slowed down due to the loss of two wickets.. Both Paki and Malik were dismissed :(

45.1 W Swales to Malik
Outswinger finds the edge of Malik's bat, and into the gloves of Barlow it goes. Beautiful bowling!

46.6 W Pearce to Paki
Yes, no, wait, sorry! A terrible mix up between the batsmen, as Dyke whips the throw in to Barlow and Paki's been run out by a long way.

And the scorecard,

End of Over 47: 274-4, runrate=5.83
Pearce 9-0-60-0
Alshaun* 8 (5 balls)
Field 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Paki Run Out 109 (FOW: 274/4)

I doubt whether a score around 290 is going to be enough on flat pitch

Should get 300

came so close :p

End of Over 50: 298-4, runrate=5.96
Swales 10-0-57-1
Field* 11 (9 balls)
Alshaun 21 (14 balls)
Last Wicket: Paki Run Out 109 (FOW: 274/4)

So 299 is the target. Hopefully HT bowlers do their best today. :upray
