Hey guys,

My new HDD came in FAT32 format. No i wanna convert it to NTFS.

So is there any way i can convert it to NTFS without losing my Windows XP installation and data on other partitions.

AbBH suggested me to use 'Partition Magic', but i dont know if it'll convert without erasing my data.

Kindda need help...

There is a built in conversion function in windows, open a command prompt and type 'convert /?' in and use the information given to figure out what you need to type in, most likely 'convert c: /FS:NTFS /X'. Your computer will then reset, scan the disk, convert, reset, scan the disk, reboot and then boot into Windows again. Follow this process for each partition.
I have done this once before and had no data loss, though you should back up important data anyway

No, i dont plan to use Vista.

I just want my current partitions to be converted into NTFS without any data or windows xp installtion loss.

Partition Magic can convert the partitions(even your Windows XP partition) from FAT32 to NTFS without any data loss. I just did it.
Well there are also other freeware tools to do this. But Partition Magic works fine for me so I havent bothered to use them.

Ok, but while converting my XP installation partition.

Will i need to reboot......or use some kind of startup floppy disk or anything of that sort.

You wont need any startup disk. It will reboot and automatically start the conversion process.
