County Cricket is a nationwide enterprise aimed at cricket clubs. In a trial for one season, the competition will feature a total of nine teams, made up of Division Two clubs. The nine clubs competing in the one-day competition and county championship are listed below with each club playing each other once (either home or way).

The county competition began in 1890, with Surrey the first winners. Yorkshire are the most successful side in the competition, winning it 32 times. Middlesex are the current holders, having won the trophy for the eleventh time in 2015/16.
