Cricket 19 - AI experiences

How is AI experience in latest patch is it now taking 1 n 2 in inner circle
 
Small sample size but in custom Test competition AI bat much better in second innings. I’m talking 100 all out to 400+.

Will see if theme continues.
 
Are these results from simulating innings ?

No, from genuinely playing full match. Last match though bowled team out for 113 then 175 i think. Much weaker opposition though. All setting middle of the road, pro, medium etc.

I have started a career mode as a star player (Shakib Al Hasan) and the first part is playing in the IPL. I never get a chance to bat and when the AI bat it is really hard to take wickets. I have managed about 5 and usually in an innings there are only 2 or 3 wickets taken-even though Rashid Khan is part of my bowling attack. Most of the time the winning team wins with 10 wickets! This is so frustrating. I bat at number 4-5 and I have only batted once and there was about 4 overs left and I only got to face 3 deliveries! I was so frustrated. In the other game modes wickets fall normally. Is this a trend in career mode? Wickets just don't fall when simulating and when I played a test championship as Bangladesh against India two innings they were bowled out under 200 in both innings! I don't understand whats going on. It's pretty frustrating.

Thanks for the impressions so far..

Here are some specific issues I had encountered in Ashes -- wondering if any of these have been resolved:
1. AI not changing field settings dynamically: Often, I'd find a shot that worked very effectively based on a gap in the field, and would score a barrage of boundaries with the same shot and the AI would never change the field to plug the gap
2. AI not batting taking into account the match situation: lose a wicket and the new AI batsman would come in and start swinging even though the asking RR was <6; or the AI would defend a ball off the last over when there were 10 runs needed. These issues got better with subsequent patches to Ashes but I don't think they completely vanished.
3. Static batting order: I don't remember the AI ever changing the batting order based on the match situation - e.g. sending in a pinch hitter if the situation required upping the RR.
 
No change to gameplay at all. I’m pretty damn happy with the gameplay so not complaining.

Wait, you're not saying that you were happy with the AI leaving easy singles on the table? Did your (patched) version of the game not have this issue? I haven't bought the game yet so just wondering if this issue affects everyone or only some versions of the game

Happens rarely when the boundaries are small. So yeah I am happy.

Just wish they’d deal with the massive and frequent AI batting collapses in career mode.

Any feedback on this? My guess from the user reviews so far is 1 is much better, 2 is improved though still unreliable at times, 3 hasn't been fixed ?

There is no patch note for gameplay changes .
 
Anybody play easy batting and bowling and legend .Will the al still bowl the Same delivery numerous times in an over with the same result. As the ai is on legend that shouldn't happen but it does on ashes has this been sorted on the new game and do the commentators say players are on debut when they clearly aren't. Waiting for steam version hence the questions
 
I've just had that 'bouncer madness' bit from the AI. In a one off match (pro/med/med, all other sliders default) haven't noticed it other modes/tours etc.

I got about four overs of full and good length bowling from the AI and for the next 20 overs I'd say 11 deliveries in 12 were 'red' length. In fairness on a medium pitch some of those which were just back of a length weren't going over the top by much, so it's not like everything was round my ears. And ol' Boycott was cutting and pulling with gusto!

Still feels too one-dimensional though - @blockerdave any ideas?

I'm tagging you as a) I seem to recall you mentioning overly frequent short pitched AI bowling a while back and b) I'm using your headingley 81 teams so don't know if I need to tweak brutish/aggressive bowler natures or perks etc. to even it out.
